:thumb:Not sure if this is where this should be, but well give it a shot......Just pickied up an airbrushing setup, and Ive been experimenting with it, but can't seem to get the H2o to paint ratio right. Im just using acrylic craft paints, but they always come out too watery.......can I not use...

heres something I didnt think of.......when I built my layout I just added the section of the track with the power plug on it, and planned to just use the cheapo power supply that came with the original bachmann set I purchased......for the time being at least, but now the layout is pretty huge...

    back from a long rest

well here is what I do.......I use a paintbrush and paint the sides with watered down glue......I do about a 1 foot section at a time, and Im generous with the glue, then I take a plastic cup with my ballast material, and a spoon, and I sprinkle the ballast onto the sides, it doesnt really...

    back from a long rest

The color was just based on trial and error....it just looked right to me...now whether its realistic to use all cinder roadbed I have no idea.....and I did paint the ties! glad you noticed because it was a miserable job. Ralph, everyone tells me they hate ballasting, I read an article about it...

    First scratch built bridge

Berraf, youre from sweden? Thats fantastic, all my favorite bands come from right in your neighborhood, if I had a chance to visit anywhere in the world right now, it would right next door to you in Finland. That whole area is like the Mecca of heavy metal music. Someone once told me it because...

    First scratch built bridge

Thanks Everyone....... the concrete ends are just made from foam, I cut the basic shape on the band saw, then carved 'em up a little, painted with acrylic craft paint, the bridge is made of basswood, which seems to be stronger than the balsa, but be around the same price, and come in the same...

When I sit and look at my setup, and inspiration hits I want to be able to run to the hobby shop grab a few things and get to work, not run to the comp, place my order then wait til next weekend to play. As...

:curse: Youd think in a city as big as Toledo, there would be a decent hobby shop......well you would be wrong. I mean I know its not a major city, but jeez, theres one hobby shop, and they are always out of everything. Even simple things are hard to get. If anyone saw my post on 90 degree...

well, when I said make one from scratch, I guess I was overstating it a little, in fact putting two together was what I was thinking of, but Im not sure Ill be able to get them close enough together to match the spacing, and Im not sure realism-wise that such a configuration exists, considering...

The Complete History of My Build

yeah that stupid reverse loop thing kills me, it was the first thing i noticed after I got the roadbed glued down, I stood there tracing the route with my finger over and over not quite believing it. My zen approach will not let me dwell on it though, Ill fix it somehow, but for the time being...
