I would use Nylon thread ( or regular black thread) instead of wire. I suspect the wire is to stiff to bend properly. Also, the thread you'll be able to wrap around stanchions once or twice, and then fix it with CA glue. Cheers, Oliver

I would use the framework in any case - you might end up with a banana otherwise. Nothing is more upsetting than a botched hull. Just my $.02 Cheers, Oliver

You might want to harden the edges of the holes with Future or crazy glue - I'm sure otherwise they'll wear out over time. Cheers, Oliver

Yes! Excellent! Can you post some details on your construction method? CAD? Pencil? It looks like you paint the parts after they go on? More, please! Cheers, Oliver

Some people do a superb job hiding the seams. But your plan would work, too. Leif Ohlsson had posted a thread on printing on long paper at some point. Cheers, Oliver

    Ship Decks

Hi there - I assume you're building Digital Navy's model of the Oregon? I haven't built the Oregon, but the Oslyabya, so I can't say anything about the tabs. As far as the decks were concerned, I laminated them first, then cut out the openings. A couple of hints, if you're interested...

I'm sorry - maybe I missed it, but what is the point of the horrible mess that you made out of a decent kit? That you can get the screws to turn? That it will swim for a little bit? Of course - everybody as they like it, but personally.... Cheers, Oliver

I'm building the DN Oslyabya right now and have no problems with it whatsoever. I've heard about the "other" one in various threads and am told that even the designer acknowledges that it doesn't fit very well. If you're interested in the ship, I recommend buying the DN one. Check out my...
