    Workin' on the railroad

Workin on the Railroad is being repeated. I aired in first run last year. They are reasonably good episodes though with some neat things to see. A TIVO or DVR that has the ability to view upcoming episodes of a show should let you see more of the series air times.

    off topic, accomplishments

There are lots of weekends where my goal is to do nothing, or more precisely only what I want to take the time to do. I have been where you are with being that busy. Sometimes I am still like that. Mostly though, I have passed that stage. I purposely take the time to stop from the hectic pace of...

    freight sacks

I can't remember where, but I recall someone using copper tubing to make freight sacks. They mashed the ends to seal it shut.

    an ebay "go figure" (rant)

I used to work for a very large auto auction company. I can tell you why people behave the way they do. A real auctioneer creates a sense of urgency. They talk fast for a reason. It gets people more pumped up and when they run through the sale quickly it causes people to bid in order that the...

Its FRIDAY 2-3-06, Weekend Modeling Plans!

This weekend I have lots of time this evening since the wife will be working a while. Saturday is not as good. I have a men's group to run at church and then it will be home for about 4 hours of carpet shampooing. Then I should be able to get some stuff done. Sunday, well, maybe I can get...

    Weathering?

I use the artists chalks also. I bought an earth tone pack. Great for some yellows on rocks, rust of differing ages, browns for dust to dirt, and black. I love the set of them!

Its Monday 1-9-06, Weekend modeling accomplishments!

She will be 4 at the beginning of March. The large layout came about as a present from Santa. They had sets at Walmart by a company called Kid Connection. It was quite a large set with 4 large bridge spans for $20. The rolling stock was terrible as far as engines, but the rest wasn't bad. We...

Its Monday 1-9-06, Weekend modeling accomplishments!

I didn't get to do nearly anything I had planned. I got up early on Saturday and managed to get a cable made for my jib crane. I painted up some detail parts I made from clay and that was it. My daughter was sick over the weekend and unable to go anywhere. Her ability to play though, was not...

    What do you do?

I am a software support tech. I when the developers publish their bugs I get to find them! I have been doing this line of work for about 10 years now. I had a career in the restaurant field before that. I would like to ditch out on the tech job eventually and open my own restaurant.

    Does anyone get RFD-TV?

I totally agree Trainwhiz20, it is definately better than nothing. I don't mind the commercials since I can sip right through them, I just wish the show was longer in content. They tend to have experts come in and do unexpert like things, such as install the prebuilt kit. Again, nothing really...

    Does anyone get RFD-TV?

I think the Trains and Locomotives show is old video series stuff. ls1gto, I haven't watched last nights yet. I may sneak it in tonight, but more likely it will wait a few days. I have to admit, I am just not into some of the train videos. It isn't that I don't really like trains, but the same...
