Do you use a wetting agent (soap water?) first before gluing? I think some people use alcohol to wet the ballast first. The first time I saw this done I thought the guys were nuts.

I have it. Excellent graphics. Really challenging at least for me. I can keep up with demand for most things but after a while everything is a mess. When your city's start to grow and congestion is a problem the double track upgrade is nice but I still have a lot of trains that sit idle...

Do Terminal joiners exsist that have a place to solder a feeder wire too? I have seen some that shaped like a "T" but they come out sideways from the track. I would think something like a "T" but the bottom part of the "T" would project down so that you could attach a feeder. Anything out...

FYI: I'm not at this point yet but I'm told it's essential. Build a buzzer: a 9 volt battery and a buzzer (Radio Shack has them) connected between the two buss wires will buzz the instant you start to wire a short into the layout.

Earlier in this thread I posted the track plan. I decided recently to remove the 19 degree crossover and simply have the track go over the lower run via a bridge. Since this will be a simple Dc layout do I need insulators? Forgive me if this is a silly question.

I have a small 4 x4 Christmas tree layout I'm working on. I ordered some supplies from my favorite online store. One of the items was ballast. I believe most people use different size ballast and maybe even colors... What sizes do you use for Ho? I bought fine and it seems too small...

Oh and loudmusic. I'm not sure if they do recycling in your area...but it makes it easy for me to grab things out of the bin to use. Of course with an idea already in mind. My wife hates it when I pull things out and don't use them.

Knighthawk I've thought about forming some small hills or brick walls with the floral foam but I thought it was just too delicate unless you covered with something. When I go to micheals I always see those bricks with finger holes and interesting words etc. :)

Maybe this is off topic but what are you guys doing with the spray foam? Doesn't it just come out in blobs. Is it something you can easily cut and form?

You'll be fine. I always have a electronics bag with me when my family flies. DVD players, gameboys, cameras and camcorders. Be prepared to remove them from the bag and place them in separate buckets. They may ask you what it's for etc. I have friends that travel with network testing...
