I need a good online source.

I'm starting some new projects this week and need a good source for LED's and resistors....Also would be nice if they sold the "rice" lights also. Is www.miniatronics.com a good place???

    Help need an animated waterfall

Russ I respect your opinion but I have never heard of water having "scale." Honestly if it's just the droplets that need to be on a smaller scale run the water thru and faucet aerator. Anyway here's the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOnWCZ1G04s

    Help need an animated waterfall

I guess this might sound a little weird but why not animate it with real water? Maybe some water with a little blue in it. Water proofing and a fountain pump and bam you have "Real" water fall. Seems easier to me than try to duplicate it. Not my idea. I've see some video of an O scale...

    Laying Track

If you have it written out on paper and you have a scanner it's fairly easy....if not you could try Atlas software to design your new layout. Easy to make changes etc.

    Laying Track

I strongly encourage you to use foam roadbed. For the sake of noise reduction alone. (May help a little.) It's not that expensive and somewhat resilient to mess ups also.

Not wise giveing infants and toddlers trains.

Interesting you post this. I caught my three year old opening my tool box. At first I just said, "Please stay out of Daddy's stuff." But later started to think what he could get into. Glue Paint Knife Skewers Charged Cordless Dremel Tons of little pieces. :( My son is Bray Bray...

    Laying Track

Kitchen, bath caulk "adhesive" clear might be best in your case. So far it's been great to use for me. Especially if you make a mistake. It's easy to pull up using a scraper.

Small 4 x5 around the tree layout question

Just an update on this project. Forgive me I didn't take pictures. You get so involved you forget to do this. I purchased some wood & foam from Home Depot last week. I planned to use 1 x3 pine but I couldn't find anything that didn't look like a chewed up pen. I grabbed some "other"...

If you shop at Harbor Frieght for Tools etc

I spend a lot of time at this place. Some of my friends tell me it's because the tools I buy there always break. :)

    Paint Brand???

I'm in a holding pattern on my Ho layout. (Deciding if we should move.) In the meantime I'm working on a small around the tree layout. I have a few buildings to paint. Can someone recommend a brand? I'm familar with scalecoat II paints because I've had to touch up my loco's but I have...

    fantasy football

Wow what a wierd year. I did really well in fantasy last year by just racking up a lot of points. This year I'm stuck in the middle of the pack with the most points. :( Projected 186.86 points this week. :)

    Tunnel liner question?

Great Idea. Also checked out your site. I'm a fellow train watcher. Not really fond of operations.

    Tunnel liner question?

I could be wrong but I don't see a reason to put liners all the way thru your tunnel. I've seen maybe the first 6 inches of either end and that's it. Unless you have a cut out to grab those derailed trains. :) I hear the woodland scenic liners are really easy to use.

    Is there a better way?

That's awesome. Great idea. Auto cad scares me a bit. I currently have a n scale track plan in Atlas RR that I need to convert to HO scale. I think I'm just going to copy it and redo it in HO. Then I wonder if Atlas can print it out like you did??? Anyone? I have trouble with...

    Is there a better way?

I'm hoping I can word this question and it make sense. I'll give it a try. I wondering if there is a prefered way of starting a new layout? For example you have a plan.... Do you draw it out on the benchwork then lay roadbed then track? At what point do you glue down the roadbed? Do you...

Lionel starter set in the "Toys" Target Ad.

That's a good question. It should but I can't find anything specific about the set. With a $249.00 price tag for a starter set similar to my MTH setup. ($229) My MTh is DCS and DCC enabled.

Lionel starter set in the "Toys" Target Ad.

I know this sounds silly but I think this is a good thing for the hobby. Seeing trains back in the mainstream stores like Target makes me think the train industry will get some new growth. I'll bet other stores follow...

    Anyone use this stuff before?

I'm told this stuff is extremely easy to use and gives a very realistic rust look. I just it in the mail yesterday so I'll try it out tonight on some test track and take some pictures. Don't get me wrong I like the paint way but I like trying new ways of doing things from time to time. I...
