Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

and I appreciate the input, just having a hard time figuring out where I might do that. I was going to put a yard down the right side, but I have decided I want the backstreets and seedy underbelly of a 30's-40's town more than I want a yard. One of those many tradeoffs and challenges we face...

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

Good morning Nobelmen, Holligans and other assorted TrainNutz. Here is the current version of the trackplan on the main level: There are a number of areas that are concealed. On the outer loop, the upper right ducks under the main level and will have two portals. This allows the inner...

Good Morning Gents. Welcome back Jeff, hope you are feeling well soon. Need to make more layout progress, but in the meantime, I'll recycle some old pics:

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

Hurdling a monumental milestone, having fully connected the inner loop, ran the Jersey Central 621 around the inner loop. Had a problem with the auto feature on one switch on a reversing loop, so had to throw that manually each time the engine entered the loop. Added the New Haven 2350 to the...

Good Morning Gents. Stretched these curves out a bit more now that I have both extensions complete. This allows me to distance the portal from the upper level:

This could be the last of the bench top construction for a while. All I need to do is cut four layers of foam to this shape and I ready to start finalizing the track plan:

Good Morning. Built the first of two add ons to accomodate the extra couple of inches needed from the track plan. Once this is all firmed up, I'll trim this to a smooth contour mirroring the curve of the outer loop with a four or so inch offset:

I have decided for the time being to eliminate the small spurs on the right side in favor of more room for structures: Here is a blown out fireworks factory I did a few years ago. Need to be dusted off and some things re-glued, but it will be a nice fit here. The black paper simulates a road...

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part II

Happy Thanksgiving to all. While the house is still quiet, I went and worked on the track plan some more: I think this is workable: I have two lines circling the trestle and have only minor modifications to the tables (I don't know what it is, but what I built is definately not what I...
