    JSC Friedrich der Grosse

I wasted four years trying to rework their LION into something resembling the ship---was one of the worst modeling experiences I've ever had in 49 years of modeling. Finally tossed it 50% complete because I was fed up reworking virtually every part (it was loosely based on the deeply flawed...

    JSC Friedrich der Grosse

I have to say that only brave souls engage in close action with JSC 1:250! I have and have come away with hull and rigging shot full of holes!

Roman's is about 1933 before the ship received the tapered stern. I hope this version isn't the same. Halinski has one coming, too!

    Halinski Yamato

Both versions are the 1945 state. Halinski corrected some errors, darkened the gray, and added many computer generated construction drawings. It is now magnificent beyond description. I bought a second copy to use for doubling on the watertight doors, hatches, etc. Halinski's ships are superb...

    Russian Tsarist battleship Tri Svatiteliya

I wish you would do a "how to" on the technique you used for the British dreadnought models and for using the Burt plans. I like to scratchbuild in paper and seeing others' methods is always informative!

    Russian Tsarist battleship Tri Svatiteliya

I am particularly impressed by your collection of WWI British dreadnoughts. Did you use the plans in Burt's BRITISH BATTLESHIPS for these? They are wonderful naval architectural models and beautifully show the development of design. They belong in a museum...

    Looking for JSC 1:400 suggestions

My first was a Wilhelmshaven !:250 LEIPZIG, 2nd was a Wilhelmshaven 1:250 LUTZOW---when I was 12 way back in '65. Both came out pretty well. I am not a big fan of JSC. They have fit and accuracy problems galore---at least the old ones. I am contemplating trying to build their brand new 1:400...

JSC gives me the horrors, but their revamped MAURETANIA with several versions and their brand new RENOWN look extremely tasty. In fact, R is likely to be my next project. Here is a step-by-step build of M: http://www.kartonbau.de/wbb2/thread.php?postid=96602 You ought to consider the...
