    Q: Changing P2K S1/S3 Trucks

My guess would be that the sideframes themselves be interchangable but I can't say for certain. Good luck!

How many unfinished projects do you have....

Our list looks very similar, lots of painting(no compressor) and decaling(no paint) to do. Lots of unbuilt kits or kits that need detail parts and the like. Many engines to upgrade to DCC and several excess items to get rid of to make room to do all of this other stuff! Ah what a web we weave. sign1

Proto 2000 HO freight car kits

I absolutely LOVE P2K kits. When I got back in the hobby these are what really caught my eye. I have about 15 50' boxcars. 6 I bought RTR, 6 were timesaver kits and the other three were normal kits. I also have several of the gondolas and they are probably the nicest cars of the line when built...

    mixed a and b units

Hey Russ, Good info, and put in a way I can understand! One question, I think I have seen pictures of freight equipment having to pull a passenger train in a pinch but did it ever go the other way around? Would they have sufficient gearing etc without blowing up the traction motors? One more...

Questions about Operations from a greenhorn.

Coyote, If this is what you are starting with you are really going places! I like the layout of the layout so to speak. I am wondering though about how many cars you expect to fit at each industry. Related to this also the capacity of the staging tracks and the trains that will be coming out...

    passenger cars

I forgot about IHC too. They put out steel cars as well. Streamlined and heavyweight series. I'm not sure on their length but they would probably be in the 72' range. Thanks for the heads up on the 50' overlands Fred, Im going to have to go buy some now!

    History question regarding Alco PA's

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I could have easily misunderstood at the time that two unit/four unit meant mandatory configuration. It makes sense from a marketing standpoint too. Thanks again! :thumb:

    History question regarding Alco PA's

I thought I heard a long time ago that PA units were run like FT units always requiring a second unit? Maybe I heard wrong. At one of the layouts I visit we have a ABB E set that pulls a daylight consist of 6-7 cars, it looks just fine.

    What's your layouts time frame?

My goal is as close to October of 1953 but due to some rolling stock, loco's and road vehicles it includes roughly 1950-1955 ish.

    Web Site Advise Wanted!!!

The site is off to a great start. I don't care for auto sound, usually is distracting and scary as mentioned previously. I would like it if it were there as an option though. So if i saw the sound bar i could hit play and see what you were trying to get me to listen to. Just a thought. Cory
