    Memory Loss?

happened to me again twice in the last week in both cases the train was on my staging track which I had not put as many feeders on. also noticed that the loco wheels were dirty so am thinking the problem is probably electrical. last night I rewired this section [more feeders] so will see...

    Memory Loss?

I occasionally have had the same problem. it usually happens when the loco has been sitting on the track for a while without being used or selected on a throttle. when selected the throttle is turned up and nothing happens. it used to be a real hassle but it has happened enough times that I...

a few years ago I used cork floor tiles as a source as it was about 1/4" thick instead of the strips which were 1/8" at that time. the tiles were 12"x12" and I cut them into strips or whatever was needed. they were in a pack of about 20 tiles. haven`t seen these for a while but could still...

installing decoders with double sided tape

thanks to all for your replies. upon reflection I think the decoder has probably not had enough room to cool, so I will certainly try Deano`s hot glue method. will also go over the wiring very carefully to double check that everything is OK, as this has only happened with the same loco...

    acronyms

as mentioned by EZ days in a recent post ,not everyone knows the meaning of some of the acronyms used when posting. perhaps a list of acronyms [ACS,ACN,ACM ??]would be helpful for those like me who can`t always work out what is meant. OTOH ??? sorry Fred , couldn`t work that one out.

    2 loco switching

the article I saw stated that:- 2 locos pulling a train which stops before the spur to be switched. the first loco is uncoupled and proceeds into the spur. the next loco uncouples behind the car to be dropped and heads forward past the spur. the first loco comes out of the spur and then...

    2 loco switching

thanks diesel I really wanted to know how easy or otherwise it is to uncouple engines in real life. is it simply a case of uncoupling the couplers or is more involved ? if they are MU`d is it easy to seperate them ? thanks
