    Brian's right. Check out Trainworld for the geeps. For inexpensive and reliable passenger cars, buy Athearn and put Kadee couplers and P2k brass wheelsets on them. That should give you a pretty good starter set. You can upgrade at a later date. By the way, there's a lot of us modeling the 50's...

    I think the original term "Kitbashing" derived from when you take two or more car kits and "Bash" them together to come up with one good one. Of course the procedure has expanded since then. Dick Texas Chief

    What detail parts would you like to see?

    I would like to see Santa Fe number boards and brackets for Santa Fe steam engines. Either plastic or brass is fine. Maybe someone can tell me where I can get the replacement boards and brackets that they use on the brass engines from the manufacturers. Dick Texas Chief
