    No more YELLOW!!!

Thanks all for your compliments. Vic- I took these with my digital cam, a Nikon Coolpix 775, set on autofocus with the flash off. As stated in my first post, I simply used natural light coming in from the window of the room.

    No more YELLOW!!!

I thought I'd try taking photos with natural light during the day (as opposed to how I usually do it with artificial light) and voila! I think the results speak for themselves.

I've been away from the board for a couple of months. Actually I've ducked in from time to time to catch up but I've been terribly busy lately. On top of that, I got into a funk and the creative juices just haven't been flowing in the spare bedroom- if you know what I mean. Luckily, it's...

Thanks all for your kind words. To answer some of your questions... The trees are homemade using balsa for the trunks and caspia for the branches. I then spray the branches with Testor's medium green and sprinkle WS Earth Turf all over to create a dusty, natural look that takes away any...

I'm almost done with the long wood trestle. You might recall from the last photos I posted that this bridge was not there. I tried to work with the tints of the photos. I guess this is something I'm still having to get used to. I'm a newbie at taking photos of this quality and am still...

    And another....

John, Those are bridge abutments for a long wood trestle I am building across this gorge. I thought it would be unique to use some timber cribbing for the abutments instead of the usual random stone retaining wall types.

    Let's try this again...

Rory... the backdrop is a whitish-blue custom mixed interior paint I had done at Home Depot. I painted two coats over masonite. Since you're in Huntsvile, the next time you're in Houston, send me an email and I'll be glad to show you the layout. Keep in mind though that is far from complete!

    Let's try this again...

Nice job Shamus and Woodie. Shamus, my rocks have a little more beige/tan in them but the effect you have given them looks great nonetheless!

    I can post pictures!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I am a big fan of Furlow and John Olson. I have both how-to books from each of them and the covers are literally worn thin. Yes, those are aspens. I simply used a dried flower called Candy Tuft that can be cut to shape and placed on the layout. I did howeve...
