I've attached a photo below showing progress on my layout. As you can see, I still have a lot of finish work to do on the scenery. The howe thru truss bridge is scratchbuilt using Central Valley girders.

I passed through Silverton, CO, last month and snapped this photo of #493 sitting in the yard. Shamus, please add it to the prototype contest. Thanks.

Shamus, I have a Bachmann 3 truck shay and it runs great. It creeps smoothly and this is out of the box using a standard power pack. Wouldn't trade it back for anything. As for radii, my smallest is approx 17 inches and it does well. The key is to loosen the screws on the trucks a bit and...

Shamus, what is the make and model of that shay? I can't tell if it's MDC, Bachmann or a brass import. BTW, great photo as always.
