Hi,
I popped the top off of mine and it looks dry, also. Theres a small hole over the back worm gear. I assume this is where you could add a drop of lube??
But no way to get to the front gears? Do you have to take everything apart --
Or, does the gear cover on the bottom of the trucks...
Bob,
Thanks for the reply. Hope you enjoy your NW2!
Dealer is shipping me a replacement.
I also like the model. Your replies have helped. Thanks again.

Just received BLI NW2. Seems to have decoder problem. Will not enter "shut down".
Does anyone else have this problem with NW2/SW7?
Does anyone else have one that operates correctly?
Comments appreciated.
Thanks
Bill
Hi,
I've recently purchased Zephr and DT400. The DT400 is great, as others have said. One consideration is if you plan, now or in the future, to run sound equipped locos, the DT400 has 12 functions -- needed for full use of sound.

moria,
Thanks for the info. Decoder expense is not a great issue with me since I only have a few Locos. I am planning a small shelf layout.
I will look into TCS along with Digitrax series 3.
Thanks again.

What is your experience with decoders using BEMF? Do they really help with slow speed operation?
What slow speed operation (i.e. SMPH) are your able to obtain with HO Atlas and P2K Diesels?
Thanks.
