Up to now there have been several discs to cut and I have been using a hole punch normally used for leather. I makes a clean cut in 6 sizes. I have found the punched disc to be much cleaner if it is backed up with a piece of scrap the same thickness as the original. Also have a Waldron punch...

Still working on the aft superstructure. Added the bi-fold doors to hangar bay, opened a passageway hatch and gradually working upwards. To this point, most of the cuts have been made with scissors...the remaining, with blade, to just the most hard to get at places.

Hi Brad, I served on the Gearing class destroyer USS Damato DD-871 Dec, 1960 to Jan 63, and the Charles Adams class USS Sampson DDG-10 from 1/63 to 8/63. There are no Gearing class DD's in paper as far as I know, but there is a Charles Adams class in the form of the German "Lutjens" in...

As we move along, just a note on a couple of additional tools that I have found very useful. The mini straight edge I use almost exclusively now for medium and short cuts and great for scoring. The handle keeps pieces of fingers from coming off with the paper, the width allows additional and...

Thanx for your kind words guys....... All I managed to accomplish today is the rails around 01 and 02 level aft gun tubs. The inside and edges of the rails were white naturally, being the reverse side of the card and the cut area. They were colored with grey artist marking pen. I...

Two photos here. One is another example of the magnetic jig in use holding the aft deck house in position while the glue dries. The other is aft deck house, along with 01 and 02 aft deck plates attached to deck. The deck plates are actually 2 pieces each, glued back to back, with the white...

HMS Eskimo designing ships for dummys

Ditto here Barry, Although I came in late as a new member, I can appreciate the complexity of taking on one's own design. Still WAY over my head. After I put together several package builds mabe I'll be brave enough to take on the old tin can I served on.......Ed

Just a little time to work on the aircraft hangar bay today. Didn't quite understand the folds so I printed a copy of the part onto standard copy paper and did a trial build. Not used to the JSC methods yet but slowly getting a grip. Decided to pose starboard hangar bay door in the open...
