All I have to say, if it matters ( and and I hope it does ) is that for the short time I have been on this forum any one of you gentlemen can visit me next time your passing though Wisconsin. I would consider it a honor and a privilage to shake your hands and talk trains.
Atlas does make a step down or up rail joiner, from 83 to100 or the other way around depending which way you face it. Also Walthers makes a short transition track that is on a taper. On the atlas web site www.atlasrr.com they call it a transition joiner.
PLBAB: I assume you are using foamboard for your base on top of the plywood. I used Liquid Nails glue to attach the foam to the plywood then I glued down my cork roadbed using the same. For the track I first pinned it down using small finishing nails to make sure everything lined up then...
Hey Mike, I'm running the HEATHER VALLEY R.R. here in Wisconsin. Its a freelance division of the old CHICAGO & NORTHWESTERN. By the way my daughters name is Heather hence the name:eek:
For my passenger service I run the old style cars with steam . I have one set of early sixties C&NW cars but as of right now my curves are just to tight for them. I guess I will have to wait till I get further down the line on my layout and open up some room for them.
My layout is 43" to 48" tall and if you sit down on a regular chair all you see is the table edge. So I got a nice cushy bar stool to sit on and it works great, plus standing up it is a good height to work on, I'm 6' tall.
In the newest Model Railroader mag. Athearns has a Trinity covered hopper in DM&E'S yellow and blue colors. In the feedmill where I work the CP tracks run about 20 feet from the building, I see many DM&E hoppers and box cars go by each day.
I just had another thought, I know two thoughts in less than an hour something huh, out of all the railroads past and present in northern have of the U.S. I think the Canadians own about 1/3 of them now!
Hey guys, don't forget the Wisconsin Central, Wisconsin Southern, Green Bay & Western, Twin Cities Western, Algoma Central Soo Line, Milwaukee Road you want me to stop now!!
I think restart feature 18 is a dcc code, so the problem might be in the decoder. You could try disconnecting the decoder and run it manualy to see if it is a motor problem.
