Hey Duey, Check the Atlas forum site, Their are a lot of people there with the same problem, and it seems that Atlas isn't doing much about it. They do have a few solutions to the problem. I ordered 4 #4 turnouts before I read about the problem, Out of four one was bad so I sent all of them...

My layout is HO, the backdrop is 2' tall floor vynil with Walthers backdrops glued to it then glued to concrete block wall. My corner radi are 6". It sits aprox. 3" behind the track, all track is in front. Kinda hard going through the block wall or else I probably would.:eek:

MSH, When I started modeling about 35 years ago, I did the same thing, bought wooden stick matches to use as lumber, and after all these years I still have the box I first bought. Only a few matches are missing, used them to light candels when the power would go out!!!:eek:

I just thought it was a truck that hauled BROOMS!!!:eek:

msh, Try marking then then cutting them out with your modeling knife. If they are close enough to the edge you can try nibbling them out with a paper punch!:eek:

Thanks Vic, I'll have to remember that next time. The layout is HO, the section on the left is 5' by 8' and stands 2' off the wall so you can get all around it. Its about 90% finished and trains are running. the section on the right is2' by 8' by 3' and is against the wall in an L setup. this...

The beaded foamboard gives off a toxic gas when cut with a hot wire tool, better use plenty of ventilation!. The other foam boards are not as bad!!:eek:

Hey Jim, I have the Command2000 myself, like you said the price was right and it was easy to start with. From what I've heard though the grapvine is that the updated version is'nt as good as the first. If something ever happens to mine I would have to echo Mike and go with Digi-tracks!!:eek:

Hey Duey, I used cork roadbed for a lot of years but I just tried some of the Woodland Scenics foam roadbed and its kind of nice. I don't know how well it will age but we will have to see!!:eek:
