Making It Up As I Go Along

Hello, Crew! This is supposed to be a Soo Line HO scale La Belle wood caboose kit. Well....I just thought that the car sides looked a little, oh, un-traction like. Right, Chris? Now that I have the direction settled, what am I going to do with the outside braced NC&St. L outside braced...

    Lake Minnetonka Interurban

This is an interesting 'dual-view' postcard from circa 1915 or so. It's postmarked, but there's no date. This must have been an interurban line that ran between Minneapolis and St. Paul. Nice rataan flip-over seats. New to my collection.

    Got That Erie Feeling

Thanks for the comments, crew! The Erie built a couple of series of these cabeese right after the war in the 40s, first in riveted side steel and then in welded side steel. I can't for the life of me remember Erie cabooses when growing up next to the mainline, but I'm sure I saw these at some...

    Got That Erie Feeling

This is the Erie caboose kit that I've been wrapped up with lately. Because the riveted and welded steel side versions of this crummy were only available in brass, I jumped on the opportunity to get one as a styrene kit. I still have a couple of parts to hang on and some touch-up to do, but it's...

    traction work cars

Sprinkler cars were used to wash streets down as a public service or through an agreement with a city. There were also snow sweepers that used big rotating brushes to remove snow from the tracks. Some work cars had small cranes mounted on them, too. Neat stuff! :thumb:

    traction work cars

Occasionally I'll come across smething like a Ken Kidder or Ed Suydam model of a work motor or line car. I'm going to scratch bash a line car from a Cannonball Car Shops Pullman troop car as part of my MW group. That's the first time I've seen a line truck......great photos! Post some more!

    Traction Action for Interurban

Hey, Jet! Good to hear from you. I like the larger GE steeple cab locos with the slant hoods, too. I also looked to the SN for ideas to help me out with this one. I put in my order with MRR Warehouse for a pair of the Baldwin Ds and need to get the power trucks, too. I really like the look...

Zellers`s first Monday of the Month

Hey, you and me both! I'm just a few years away from the discount, but my wife signed us both up for AARP membership to help me get used to the idea. Being middle-aged is a real pain. I take pills that help with one thing, but knock me out and make me tired as a side effect. Now I have to go to...
