for my first scracth project I decided to make a small water tower. I took some toothpicks, cut the pointy ends off. I just started to make the base frame. When I'm done I'll give a weathered look.

how can I make some cornstalks in the field? I plan on having 1 or 2 corn fields in my layout and, I was going to have a combine looking like its picking the corn.

now I just need some more track and other stuff for my layout.

I found the perfect table to put my layout on. Its a half of a Ping-Pong table. It measures at 60in. x 54in. I think that will be big enough for my layout.

I plan on making some HO scale hoppers and some gondolas and some flats. I would need to buy the trucks from the LHS. What should I make the rest of the frieght car out of? balsa? other tips would be greatly appreciated:)

are Life Like locomotives expensive? what brand makes the cheapest Loco? or would it be cheaper to scratch build a Loco?

I got my first model train set today. It's made by Life Like, and I really like the quality of the track and train. I bought it for half price, I couldn't pass up the deal, a $60 set for $30. I'm really going to enjoy this set. I've start thinking about a layout. I'm so glad I bought HO...
