trouble making the head of Optimus Prime

Thanks Ekuth, best of luck with the new job. It was pointed out to me that I had one more thing missing. There are missing fold lines on this piece (see picture, pink lines). Once there folded in there should be no gap and the pices sould be perfect :thumb:

trouble making the head of Optimus Prime

Ok, I think I sort of figured out #34. Jules gave me a picture (see picture "1") of where it goes but I was still a bit lost with it as it didnt seem to fit properly. My problem was with #35 (see picture "2") and in particular the part highlighted in yellow. I had glued the tab to the edge...

trouble making the head of Optimus Prime

Sorry. I hadn't even noticed that numbering problem. The part I made there is labelled with the same numbers. I can still answer you though (I think). I have that piece done. That looks like the fin on the top of his head. In the instruction pictures #49 is not labelled (see attached pictures)...

trouble making the head of Optimus Prime

Just jumped ahead in my build. I'm making the same one now. Looks ok. Looks like you close no.41 and stick 40 on its tabs. 39 then wraps around under those two parts forming a short cylinder. You then make another short cylinder with 37 and 38 with 37 as the spacer between 38 and 40. Hope that...

    My 3foot Galactica attempt

That would be some display alright. At the moment I'm really inspired by ekuths TOS Galactica and the great miniture work he's done and i'm trying to build my own tini vipers to finish off the model (trying being the key word). Anyone know where I can get a 1:500 viper Mk2?

    My 3foot Galactica attempt

Thanks again for the great comments. sjsquirrel: Thanks for the advise. I keep an eye out for those. I heard sharpie markers are good to. F131 & CP1963: It's a great model to build and fits together really well (with very clear, easy to follow instructions). If you’re thinking of building it...

    My 3foot Galactica attempt

Thanks for the comments guys. Thats a great idea about colouring before you glue. I hadn't thought of that. I'll try that out on my next model. I hadn't really thought about displays either. I was pretty excited to build when I found it. I suppose I could start a set now. There's a few more...

    My 3foot Galactica attempt

This is my very first attempt at a serious model. I started with a few small warm up models before I tackled this one. Took me around 50 hours and I really enjoyed making it. I used 220gsm card which on completion I now was far too heavy. If I was doing it again I would use much lighter card but...
