    Von Braun 1956 Mars Mission

Thanks guys. I just finshed adding the metallic yellow, and blue colors to the requisite parts. I also added a sheet of reversed nozzles coloured black, for the inside of the engines. Now all I need is some ambition, and more cardstock, for the next beta build. I think the 1/144th scale...

    Crichton from Buck Rogers

Looks like an intersting idea, do you mean to put one or more inside as support? One may not be enough for full elevation, but if you can link the bellows parts of two or three, it might work. Maybe glue a dowel piece inside at the joints? One possible problem I see might be that too much force...

    SS Botany Bay

That really does look amazing. It also stuck me as funny. I've had this model for years, but I only just printed a copy a few days ago. I must've known yours was coming along for some inspiration. Scott K.

    Von Braun 1956 Mars Mission

Here's what I've come up with, so far. I'm trying to match the concept paintings. I've also had a suggestion to add weathering, just need to figure how and where on it. Scott K.

    Revell- Fan's Felgercarb build.

I threw one together Sunday, and it fooled everyone in my family, until they touched it. It wasn't even printed on glossy paper! Thanks, Revell-Fan! Scott K.

    New to card modelling!!

Hello m57, welcome from me, as well. Rogerio already addressed the paper weight question, better than I could, since I'm in the States. As for glue, do you have Aleene's Tacky Glue in the UK? Its very much like regular white glue, only with a lower moisture content. It works best for me of...

    GPM Tornado F3 1:33

The Tornado was one of those aircraft that I didn't think I had much interest in. Then I saw your beautiful model. Now, I WANT ONE too! Thanks for showing it! Scott K.

    Von Braun 1956 Mars Mission

Yes. I'm working on it as we speak. One question for people here. I was originally planning to make all tanks white, with a metallic finish on the rest of the ship. The parts pages look rather bland to me now. I need to look at the original paintings asain to see what colors they "really" are...

    Corellian Consular Cruiser "Radiant VII"

Interesting. One of those "Easter Eggs" filmmakers are always putting in. Still, I never heard of this one before. Scott K.

    Von Braun 1956 Mars Mission

There have been many delays and distractions in this project. Upon further research, I discovered that the lander/cargo ship would be accompanied by a passenger ship as well. The '56 version of the mission is actually only one of several variations I discovered, but since I was already working...

    Von Braun 1956 Mars Mission

I really thought I'd posted this here, as well as at PM, but I don't see it in a search. So, time for a new thread. Inspired by an article in Finescale Modeler call "To Mars: In 1956!", I set out to build my own model of the Von Braun Mars Lander depicted in the article. The original was...

    Corellian Consular Cruiser "Radiant VII"

That looks very good. If I ever get caught up on my own designs, I really need to build this one. I do have it printed somewhere. Are there any problems in particular that you can point out? Scott K.

    Good advice

I did try the freezer trick, with no improvement. I can still only access the D drive, which only has the compac recovery data on it. The C partition says it needs formatting. Looks like I'll just have to wait until I'm wealthy enough to afford a recovery service. Scott K.

    Groizer X - Space Pirate

I can only echo what Ron said. In fact, Ron, it was watching your Enterprise take form a few years back that inspired me to continue with my own designing. Scott K.

    Good advice

Sorry to hear about that, Paul. Between your friend, and what Zathros said, it does sound promising, though. Zathros, I have an old drive that still spins, but makes "bad" noises when its running I can only read data from the backup partition, and it takes forever just to do that. Do you...

    Model of the Month: T-47 Snowspeeder / paper-replika / 1:20

In my former incarnation here as sdk2knbk, I actually got a model of the week photo for my Kampflieger Piaggio P.C.7, back in 2007. It lasted about 2 days, then the forum crashed. Never had one again. Scott K.

PBY Catalina Consolidatrd Vultee Flying Boat

Looking good, Mac. Sorry if I wasn't clear before, mine is the same kit. I just built it from slightly enlarged thumbnail pictures. The smaller bits were almost too fuzzy to use, that and my fat fingers are why it still isn't done yet. Scott K.

    The Anniversary Clowns

Yesterday (Saturday the 13th) was our 29th wedding anniversary. Since our situation is so poor, I wasn't able to take my wife out to dinner, buy her any goodies, or even buy her a card. What I did instead, was build her a toy. She loves clowns, and mechanical toys. Canon's "(Moving) Clowns...
