Atlas - superb locos and rolling stock!
'Couse, I also have and like Kato, LL (now Walthers) P2K, Stewart, Athearn, and even Bachmann (who makes a superb 2-8-0), and for rolling stock add Kadee, Intermountain, and Red Caboose!

There are EPA scientists and then there are EPA politicians (then there are some that are both) ... sounds like you encountered a politician.
I have 12 years of government service myself (former USAF officer), so I know the type of politics you can run into.
I DO read the...

If you look at the EPA site (and other scientific information available in journals like Nature and Science), you would find out that:
1. The solar radiation HAS been taken into account - it is not a factor with in the current time frame, and
2. Corrected satellite data DOES...
Some points:
1. Human-produiced CO2 amounts in a given year are more than 100X that of all volcanoes and other natural sources combined.
2. Over 500 scientists worked on the report - you say 6 or 7 disagreed. That means about 98% AGREEDED with the report !!!
3. I thought "Talk about...
You might try using e-Bay to sell them - but ask the advise of a model railroad hobby shop as to what price to put on them first (regardless of how you sell them) to get their true value!
If your road is like mine, the smaller geeps are a must!
The Rock Island had 130 GP7s over it's lifetime (and 23 GP 18s and 21 GP9s), far more than the next larger locos (which were 77 GP40s and 68 GP38-2s).
So ... gotta buy them !!! sign1

I looked at the Atlas web site:
http://www.atlasrr.com/hoproducts.htm
There were three releases of the Dash 8-40BWs.
The first release, in May 2001, only had simulated ditch lights (SF/BNSF).
Only the next two releases had working ditch lights (June '03 - BNSF, SF; Aug...
Good question!
I have heard the more recently issued (vs recently bought!) P2Ks don't have this problem - I would like to hear any evidence yea or nay about this from P2K owners.

On another thread, someone is having problems with plaster cloth (which contains hydrocal, I think?) not sticking to the blue building styrofoam.
Have you had any problems along these lines with your POP, and if so what did you do ???
Great work, BTW !!!
I really appreciate you...
It's an Atlas loco, and comes with the marker lights. I have the RI H15-44, and they are cool locos!
Great looking layout, Kyle !!!
Thanks for the great ballasting tips, everyone !
From the link I gave you on your last thread about this subject:
http://www.nmra.org/beginner/bench48.html
"Cut 4 legs to the length you decide upon. At first it would seem obvious that the legs should be mounted at the corners of the layout but that is not so. If you mount them about 20%...
The Woodland Scenics "Scenery Manual" says that "Lightweight Hydrocal (which I think is the basis for their plaster cloth) will not readily adhere to cellular styrofoam".
They suggest that the surface be roughed up using a rasp.
Maybe TomPM could chime in ???
He doesn't seem to have...

Here is a link to a DCC comparison chart:

Hope it helps.
Personally, I like my Zephyr. It's main problem is the 10 cab limit. But from your description of your layout, it should work.
I suggest you verify that the wheels (and the track) are the right size with the NMRA gauge.
I have bought cars that had the wrong size wheels that tended to derail on curves.
Replaced them with P2Ks, and all was well.
Check the coupler hose height with the Kadee gauge while you are at...
In addition to fileing the points, be sure to check for correct track and wheel size with the NMRA gauge, and especially the coupler hose height with the Kadee gauge - I've had coupler hoses catch on switches and flip the loco or car off the track!
