Practical experiences only... What's the playtime for a bucket of plaster of paris and sculptamold? I want to get down on my next days off and I want to prepare. I don't get alot of time to work on the layout so I have to cram as much buiding in as possible.

I think I'm getting the knack. Using more wire. Five doubled strands give ten separate branches. More to work with.

Here are a couple more. I know they need a little more flocking but right now, I'm just experimenting.

That's just way too much track. Unless a football field won't contain your layout.

My LHS. Comes in 36" lengths. I think most of the time it goes for a little over two dollars a length.

This is why I ask. I just wanted to see If I could do it first. Eventally I will get it down to a science.

$4.00 worth of 26 guage floral Wire, floral tape, and industrial strength scouring pads (stiff pads used on grills). Picked it all up at Walmart. A bag of medium turf or flocking. I got a big bag of the fall colors for $4.00. I cut at least six strands of the floral wire in equal length and...

I bought flex track a couple bucks a piece. It went a long way and I still have half of it. I may use It later.

I planned on using sculptamold and molded rock on the cliff face.

That's the answer I was hoping for. Thanks to the both of you. I have a mix of sheer cliff and gradual elevations and I didn't want to spend hours filling in steps.

Working on my styrofoam elevations and I'm not sure what I should use. LHS owner used Sculptamold on everything and it looks great. Can Sculptamold be laid down on a thin layer of plaster cloth? Thinking about using the plaster cloth to smooth them out and following up with the Sculptamold.

Little update. I haven't touched the layout in about six months. I kept wondering where I was going to start when it came to terrain but after a while, I just jumped in and started.

I only know of two. One is the wife of my LHS owner and O'm pretty sure she's in it for yje money making aspects. The other is the wife of another LSH. She's the "Train Brain" of the shop.

That was my first guess. That or a maintenance access. Probably just reached up aftarwards and panned the camera.

What's in a name? What's in the way it's laid out? It still beats the alternative. It's still a free website people. Some forget that it takes time and money to do this. just my .02

I used to sell Motorcycle parts on eBay but I gave up. Too many stupid people. I could write "This part will only fit on a 1977 Flipper Fletch 2000", and within an hour a get a half a dozon emails asking me if it will fill a 1978. That and the yard sale mentality. I could have a brand new part...

I'm sure I and others have beaten this one to death but here we go again. Running atlas switches and some, not all of my locos, have a problem with them. The front trucks make the turn but the rears continue on straight. Any thoughts?
