    Doubleheaders Tour 2008 pictures

galt, the St Jacobs actually looks to be pretty much what I would like to have with my layout (or future layouts). Excellent scenery. And the trains don't completely dominate it like on a lot of layouts, its more realistic in that the trains run through the scenery. THAT is my goal

    Doubleheaders Tour 2008 pictures

My favorite is the St Jacobs. The creator seems to be somewhat on the same ideas as me, where the layout is based on the scenery, wth the trains running through it

    On Track, with Deano

Here's a couple for you that I'm sure you'll love Deano! I was driving on Prince Crossing heading E into Winfield, IL when I saw this loco leading a train (a few years ago now). As soon as I saw the colors, I knew I had to take a picture of it, and ended up with these results, while driving...

Do you model less in the summer?

I chose "still tinker". In the summer there is much more to do outside, but during the day it can simply get too hot and humid to do much. At night, where the layout is now at my parents house, the mosquitos can be way too much to handle, so it helps to stay inside

Deano, I know. I just didn't like seeing this thing in that condition. You also have to be a membership holder to volunteer at IRM, which I am not

After seeing the DDA40X at IRM last year, that made me want to become a volunteer there, just so I could try to work on it. Its a shame to see that thing in that condition

    Watchout for low flying aircraft

I don't think its teh 787 I'm thinking of, but I could be wrong. All I remember is that the jet is a few stories tall, bigger than any other jet in the world, and made its debut flights about a year ago or so. Even made a landing in Chicago at O'Hare

Is that going to be new super jumbo sized airliner (sorry, forgot the name of it)?

Deano, are you sure you didn't steal those pics from me? I've taken pictures of that same DDA40X at IRM, from those same angles! Then again, as big as it is, I'm sure many people have
