I can only speak for myself here, but I'd want to keep them. Maybe incorporate them into a garden of some sort

The more I look at it, the more I am surprised you don't add another section to the layout to the right side. You've got plenty of room there

Lots of room for yards there. I myself like scenery more than operations, but I can see this plan has lots of potential for some great operations

Man, my wife wants nothing to do with my model railroading, and I would say she barely even shows any support. Any time I try to show her progress, she either doesn't look or just says something like "its nice" just to get away from it

Steve, put up a post in the track planning section, stating what you are looking for, what era, what industries, etc and I'm sure someone would be happy enough to help you. This is a friendly group of modelers, and we all like to help each other

Steve, thank you for the compliment. I only have time to work on the layout on the weekends, and even then its not every weekend either. It sucks having my layout be almost an hour drive away from the house

I have gotte some work done over the past few weekends. I put some big foam blocks down to build the base for where the tunnel will go through. After that, I was able to to put some more foam down around that area, to start building the contour of the land, or at least the base for the...

I'm only 25 and love the hobby. The biggest problem for people my age is money. I'm married, I have a 3yr old son, not making a whole lot of money (neither is the wife), and we're only renting at the moment.

Got some more foam down to build the base of the hill/tunnel portion of the layout. Also got some plaster work done to smooth out the slope of some spots
