Tetters thanks for the information.:thumb: I have looked at the mentioned site and looked at their video.....Very imformative. I think I am ready to give it a try as soon as I get the right kind of solder.
Mike and Dave....Thanks for the information and pointers on doing the soldering. Mike I have bookoos of track from an auction so plenty to practice on.:)
One question for Dave (another one:confused:) What do you mean by "mat" in the last sentence of your reply?
Mike thanks for the information. I will try my had at soldering as indicated. This will be my first attempt to solder anythin so hope it is not to complicated.:thumb:
David thanks for your reply. Guess my question shows my ignorance as relates to train wiring procedures. I do not need my hair or anything else singed. I'll do some reading and searching on Block Wiring.
Once again great people on this site:thumb:
Gus and Don...What would I do without all of you fine folks out there? I really appreciate your responses and I will follow your advice. I will not use power packs together and if I make seperate sections, I will use one power pack for each. Again thanks and have a great day:thumb:
Dams on Layout
Has anyone included dams on their layout? The Arkansas River has a large concrete Corps of Engineers Dam not to far from me and I was thinking of perhaps including one on our new layout. Any ideas?
Chartiers thanks for sharing your picture of the water. I think it is really nice and realistic looking. I need to incorporate a creek onto my still in progress track bed and I may borrow some of your methods.
GREAT JOB!!
I don't know if this has been covered or not (probably has and I haven't been able to find it!)
My question is, can a person hook up more than one power pack, safely and without burning something out, to a track in order to get more power to the engines. They seem to slow down...
:wave:Don thanks for sharing pictures of your great layout! Nice Engine House too. Npehew back from Irac? Tell him thanks for his sacrafice and I appreciate what all the troops do for this great country of ours. :Patriot1::Patriot1::thumb::thumb:
I am building my first real layout and need...

Hello all.....Enjoy reading postings and looking at the pictures. Here in SE Colorado we are having a cold mostly dry winter so far. Tomorrow is forcast for freezing rain, we'll wait and see.
I have a question.....Does anyone know of a good book that is pretty straight forward on how to repair...
Russ thanks for the information. My layout has been modified slightly since you were on last. The only change that I have made is to widen the rounded tabletop that appears on the drawing on your last post. It did make the center isle more narrow but I made sure that it was wide enough for my...
Green elite cab.....I will try to post some pictures of the layout tables so far. I thought that my description might be confusing to some. Got to get me a digital camera someday so I don't have to wait for development of the pictures.
Loren I worked on setting up the layout today and if you don't mind tooooo much, I think I will try to incorporate a bridge in the walkway to tie the two tables together. Can't believe that the painting of the room and working on the tables themselves has taken this long but I am satisfied with...
