    What do you have

    Question about short-lines...

i did know that yes, but i cant put a doghouse on a vandy tender can I! but the NHE uses the vans as "support vehicles" - ie the carry all sorts of re-railing gear are tools in case of an emergency or a derailment so ther has never been a need for the third crew member to ride in the cab...

    Question about short-lines...

My shortline uses cabooses as we use the vehicles for the crew, mainly because you can only fit two crew in a steam locomotive cab. The modern version of the line also uses vans, but thats because the management wont allow more than a two man crew in the cabs of the F40PH-6R units the line...

    IHC/ President's choice Hudon mods

I belive IHC has only recently come out with the Hudsons anyway so that model should be up to modern standards - from what i know of one a member of my club has they have a DCC socker in the tender as well as working backup lights (unlike my older IHC Mountains).

    kitbashed headend equipment

Just what i was going to say!!! looks like some kind of prototype kit-bashed sightseeing car. And Wayne - i have a trio of those Overland cars already (coach, cobine and obs) which are used as a preserved tourist train. Along with a couple of work-car kitbashes from the even smaller Overton...

    kitbashed headend equipment

now that first car is impressive - take it its a horse car? trussrod underframes - thats something i hadnt considered for the Harrimans! would allow me to put a lot more "junk" under the frames as well - might give the diner a more prototypical "busy" look as its such a small (comparatively)...

    kitbashed headend equipment

yes thanks wayne it does. Going to put my diner on six wheel bogies to make it look like its a heavy car compared to the other Harrimans was thinking my diner could be one of those ones that has been converted to eletric ranges - would this be plausible??? Also what sort of things would the...

    kitbashed headend equipment

so what sort of details should i be looking at adding to my Harrimans (Baggage, RPO, Combine and Diner) and my trio of heavyweights (Athearn coach and observation and a Rivarossi rider[?] car) to make them more prototypically correct for 1944?

Examining the On30 Bachmann Outside Frame 2-8-0

im waiting for the supposed up-coming Bachmann 0n30 Forney too - going to turn it into a small Mason Bogie by changing the trcuk to a six wheel one. Assuming there even is an 0n30 Forney coming!

Examining the On30 Bachmann Outside Frame 2-8-0

id agree with that - they look great, pull well and above all are so different from any other rtr 0n30 steam at the moment. Notice you got one in the same trim as my six!
