    ARRGgggg...confused about wire gauge?

I have read a number of posts about wiring DCC layouts. I have many spools of AWG 22 and want to know if this will work or if I need a heavier gauge wire for my layout? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

How difficult will it be to DCC equip this loco?

WOW!!! That sounds a little complicated for a novice like me to accomplish. Maybe I should just buy a unit that has everything already equipped?

    Securing track to benchwork?

Thanks for all the input ya'll. I am tacking directly to a plywood roadbed, never really liked working with that cork stuff although I'll admit it does quiet things down alot. I thought about hot glue for the temporary tack but thought it might melt the plastic ties....any problems with that...

    Securing track to benchwork?

The benchwork is almost complete and it will soon be time to lay the track. (My goal is to have trains running by Christmas) I was wondering if there are any new ways of doing it besides nailing it down with those tiny little spikes with my tiny little hammer that ALWAYS smashes my HUGE...

OK DCC gurus here is the question...

MRC is still doing upgrades on Prodigy Advance... I called MRC yesterday and they are still doing upgrades as previously stated. Also any units bought at Tony's Train Exchange have already been sent back and modified according to Tony. Regards, Bob

OK DCC gurus here is the question...

MRC advertised their unit Prodigy Advance System at 3.5 amps but the power supply they furnished (for free) was 2.5 which was the issue I guess. If they advertise 3.5 then they should have delivered 3.5 not 2.5 ... no heartache from me here but to some who run many trains with their systems this...

Question about Atlas Turnouts and DCC operations?

With the Atlas Turnouts, I've noticed that is appears the conducting metal continues through (underneith) the frog area even though there is plastic insulation at the frog. My question is this... When using DCC with these Atlas switches, do I need to cut the metal in order to isolate the...

What were the engine types in the 40's, 50's and Early 60's?

Morning, I am curious to know what styles and types of locomotive power was available from the late 40's through early 60's? Is there a source for this info online with a timeline available? I know that F7's and GP30's were the mainstay during the transition period but I was wondering...

OK DCC gurus here is the question...

Hi Ya'll, I finally got my MRC Prodigy Advance DCC System last week :thumb: but understand I need to send it back to MRC for a slight power modification change since they under powered :curse: the unit ... but that's ok because I have not laid the track yet on my new layout. I have...

Does anyone know anything about this loco?

Yes I thought it looked toyish as well, but I have some older looking short Denver & Rio Grand passenger cars that would go with it quite nicely. I guess I will pass on it and try to find a real HO scale 4-6-2 that I can put a decoder in to go with the passenger cars I have. Thanks for the input,

Looking to model 1955-1965 and need some help...

Thanks all for the education and clearification. I favor the Western region of the country because I like the rock formations and look of the old western towns. I might take your advice and do the "coal" type and use Santa Fe as a guide. Right now I have all Southern Pacific diesel...
