    command control

I just got the MRC Prodigy Advance DCC System and so far it seems to do what I needed it to do. Since I am just new to DCC I have nothing to compare it too, however it is really nice and I am looking forward to many years of DCC fun on my small railroad. I also just received my Broadway Limited...

    ARRGgggg...confused about wire gauge?

I temporarily hooked up my MRC Prodigy Advance DCC system (in 1 place only) to my mainline with 22 gauge wire to a curved terminal section of atlas track attached to the end of a siding just to check things out. To my amazement my Atlas engine responded perfectly. However my Broadway Limited...

Mainline laid but have a problem...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will be checking out all the ideas suggested. I'm still waiting for my flextrack order from Standard Hobby Supply! It seems that they were moving into larger space and nothing shipped until yesterday. Had I known that I would have ordered from someplace...

Mainline laid but have a problem...

Will be replacing used track with new... Morning all, It's not the engine that derails but the rolling stock that follows it. I agree that it may be out of gauge. I checked it with my NMRA gauge and it seems a might tight on the bend. I have been using my used track from my previous layout...

    Sorry for the dumb question...but...

I just heard from MRC about the Prodigy Advance System... I just heard from MRC about their Prodigy Advance System and my inquiry about computer control possibilities. They have no plans to do anything about it. :( However, they did refer me to a outside company that is currently working...

Mainline laid but have a problem...

More info... I am using flextrack and it is coming into a turnout however the cars seem to derail a couple of inches prior to the junction at slow speed. They seem to do better if the throttle is faster. I will have to check the track spacing with my NMRA gauge when I get home. The engine...

Hi Ya'll, Well I finally have the mainline laid on my layout and all is working well with the exception of 1 spot. When the train runs clockwise there is no problem...when the train runs counter clockwise I have one spot where I get a derailment. Engine only...no problem but with cars it...

    Sorry for the dumb question...but...

This software works with several systems, but one thing you will definitely need is a way to connect your computer to your DCC system. I use Lenz and they have an interface that costs about $40. Others have similar devices, I believe. Also, note that in order to do "routing" as you describe it...

    Sorry for the dumb question...but...

I was wondering if by using DCC to run trains and turnouts if you can pre-program the trains to run certain scenerios so that they can run all by themselves...starting and stopping, changing turnouts, waiting for a few moments and then continuing? This would be nice when guests...

How difficult will it be to DCC equip this loco?

Well I broke down and ordered a Broadway Limited J1e 4-6-4 for my railroad. Tony's Train Exchange has many engines on sale and I figured for $211 bucks I could'nt go wrong. Now all I have to do is finish laying the track on my layout. I have about 1/4 of it done so far but have not started...

How difficult will it be to DCC equip this loco?

Guys, I really like this unit...it runs well and looks awesome... but maybe I should send it out to have this unit converted to DCC with sound. I guess leaving it to a professionals would be the wisest choice. Any suggestions on anyone who does this work? Recommendations are welcomed. Regards,

    ARRGgggg...confused about wire gauge?

In the past for DC operations, the 22 gauge wire worked fine, and yes I did have multiple points of power through out my old layout however on my new layout I am going DCC (and can't wait to try it out). The problem I have is very little under layout access since the layout in built on top of...
