    Reversing Loop - Need Help

Gary, I am using Atlas turnouts. I haven't had time to work on my layout for a few days, but want to get back to solving the problem that I have with the reversing section. In your example of cutting a piece of flex into thirds, can I use insulated jumper leads to get the power off of the rails...

    Reversing Loop - Need Help

The feeder is between #4 and the words Main Line. Yes, the reversing module is connected. When the locomotive comes out at 5, the outside rail of 5 joins the inside rail where it comes into the Main Line. Is the one reversing module supposed to take care of that problem or do I need another one...

    Reversing Loop - Need Help

I had another idea so I removed the insulated connectors at 4 to see if that would make a difference; however, that didn't solve the problem, but I left them out as apparently I don't need them. I also removed them at 3, but that didn't make any difference as I still get a short when my...

    Reversing Loop - Need Help

I just removed the insulated connector at 1, and now I have power where I indicated on my last diagram that I had lost power. Also, I can now come into the reversing section at 2, but when I come out at 5 I get a short. So now everything is working fine, except when my locomotive comes out of...

Yes, after removing the module I was able to run the trains. I do not have a separate power feed into the reversing section. Tonight I insulated the reversing section at 5. Once again I did not have a short on the layout, but I did not have any power in a short section prior to the reversing...

    Reversing Loop - Need Help

I put in the turnouts at 2 and 3 yesterday, and I insulated both rails at points 1, 2, 3, & 4. Steamhead, this afternoon I disconnected the yellow wires of the reverse module and when they were disconnected I did not have any short in the layout. I then connected the yellow wires to the left of...

    Reversing Loop - Need Help

Reversing Loop Yesterday I built the reversing loop from 2 to 3. Prior to that installation I did not have a reversing loop and everything worked fine. I did not try anything prior to installing the reverse module and that was the last thing I did after putting in the roadbed and tracks so at...

Which Direction Do You Run Your Trains?

I am installing a reversing loop so I can run both ways rather than having one train run north and other one run south. I also want to be able to get into all of my sidings with all of the trains.

    Just Playing Around

My son and I built a layout when he was in high school, and we had a good time working on it. Ten years ago we had to take it all apart as we sold our home and purchased a new condo. He moved 300 miles away 6 years ago and last summer I finally built another layout. He kept asking me when that...

I purchased the Prodigy Express this past summer and I am very happy with it. I purchased it on the Internet for $109.99 so the price was right. That price included everything that I needed.

What gauge of wire for turnouts

I was wondering about telephone wire for the switches also. I used 14 gauge for the main track bus and 22 gauge for the feeders. Everything works fine for the DCC. Thanks for the input from all of you.
