    Blue foam or foam blues?

White board is bead-type board. It is really messy to use and doesn't hold roadbed well, unless you use the self-adhesive type. It will also melt if you use any kind of spray paint on it.

Do you like the LifeLike GP38-2?

I have two of the Atlas GP38s and two of the LifeLike GP38-2s. I ran them together two weekends ago for a couple of hours. They ran just fine and I didn't notice any operating difference between the Atlas and the LifeLikes. The Atlas' came with knuckle couplers, I had to add them to the...

    I don't know...

In the USA, wether you're "Right-side" running or "Left Side" running mostly depends on the railroad in question. Most US railroads are "Right-side" runners.

    Loco Comments

Okay, you guys asked for it. We'll take them in alphabetical order: Atlas: 2x 2-8-2 (1970's) both good runners once they get started! 1x 4-6-2 (1970's) ditto 1x RS-1. Haven't run this one much but I like the way it looks! 1x GP-7. This is from last years manufacturer. Nice slow...

    Loco Comments

I'd like to see something like that myself. Personally, I can only speak (or write) about the engines I own. That might be something to start up on my web site.

    Bachmann "Plus" F7a

Hah! After taking apart 4 A and B units (and putting them back together again!!!), I have found out where the spring goes now. The spring goes in the left-most weight/frame. There is a little indentation there and the spring goes in, end-wise, to make the connection to the motor from the left...

    Bachmann "Plus" F7a

Thanks for the tip, kettlestack. I did finally figure out that the block is providing the "wire" for the current to go from track thru wheels to motor. And I had also figured out that the light bulb gets power the same way. What I haven't figured out is what the little spring is for!

    Bachmann "Plus" F7a

The new F7's don't seem to be that much different from the old ones, internally that is. The shells look much nicer. I finally took one of my A units apart and it took me the longest time to figure out how they transferred power from the rails to the motor! I also came up with a copper...

    My Layout, SWPrr

It's going to be a shame for you to lose this layout. Pack it away carefully; who knows, you might get a chance to re-establish it in the future! Meanwhile, keep posting pictures for a historical perspective!

    Radius

Hi again, plbab; Radius is one of the most important things in N-Scale. The larger the radius, the smoother the ride. I run about 20" on my turnarounds. This is mainly for the passenger trains I like to run with their 85' cars. Also my Bachmann 4-8-4 does better on larger radius...

    Bachmann Spectrum F7A & B

Well, I went and did it. Bought a set of ATSF F7A&B from my local hobby stores. I went in and saw them on Saturday when the first came in and liked what I saw. I didn't buy them then because I didn't want to fool around with another coupler exchange! Fancy that! Anyway, I took them home Monday...
