    HOn3 Degrees of Incline

Got the grade dialed in, it's 3%-4% max. Loosed up all the risers and bump up the low end of the grade, then buttoned everything back. The grade looks flater. Photos of progress to come. Thanks for the info, Dog

    Should I go dual scale?

Dual Gauge I am building an HO layout with a transfer station for an HOn3 line. One side of the layout has HOn3 (about 3' x 10') while the balance of the layout is an 8' x 10' HO. I am not running dual gauge track because I preferred to just display both gauges rather than enable them to...

    HOn3 Degrees of Incline

I have 8' in length to spike down HOn3 track starting from a zero elevation. How many inches can I climb by the time I reach the end of the 8'? Thanks, Dog

    I wish they'd make........

I'd like ... ...a decent running 44 ton unit. The only thing I have seen out there is that crummy running Bachmann Spectrum thing - simply awful. Since I am fairly new, does a better unit exist? Brass? DOG

    Code 83 Track.

Thy cheapest one ... If you are looking for the least expensive code 83 flex, go for the Atlas. However, if you want the nicest quality code 83 flex, consider Shinohara. Both are good products. The delta in price between your Local Hobby Shop and the Internet, after you pay for shipping is...

For the HOn3 gurus, Are the old Lambert/Shinohara turnouts the same/worse/better than the new Walther's Shinohara turnouts? DOG

    I can't help myself ...

Okay, Thanksgiving is over. So, I have a few questions for you: 1. How many train related items will you buy for yourself between now and the first of the year? 2. If so, will you splurge and go for some motive power or will you buy more rolling stock that you probably cannot use...

    My Layout - No Questionaires!

Wish I were ... This is my first HO layout, so I really appreciate the kind words from all of you so far. Hardly a craftsman! The only other layout I have done was N scale on a 4x8 board using Atlas sectional and DC power. I lost interest because it was single dimensional and using all of...

    My Layout - No Questionaires!

Layout Photo 8 Track is solid and trains run great - using a Athearn Genesis USRA 2-8-2 for testing. Steam gives you the best feedback on track quality. I recommend making sure of this before moving on.
