Thanks Beachead! Fortunately there is repetition and some sense eventually when the learning curve is attempted. Complicating things is the fact that different time periods has different rigging styles. Books are a must. It is fun, though.

I hope to share your enjoyment, from my perspective seems rather daunting..progress on guns, shed the breech rope as it looked too stout for scale, and added lots of stuff to the guns for more rigging options, guntackle and train tackle if I dare...

Eib, I agree, all that work, however, in my personal view (for what that may be worth:confused:) is that the boats are not that bad. You may be surprised at that, but really I like them. Sure a touch of latex putty and paint would shine up the hulls, but I don't think they're that bad. ps: I...

I'm building a Gremir p-40 and looked at the Merlin model and compared to the Allison. It is possible to make some small changes and make the merlin look similar to the allison, especially if only part of the engine is exposed. I have the Merlin downloaded if you want it

Eib, those could be dressed up easily enough, I would have no hesitation myself to do so, but since I'm doing a sailing ship presently I have lost all intent to make everything out of paper. Impossible. Lines? Decent masts? Oh well, I guess I shouldn't throw out the baby with the bathwater, but...
