    Shay Logging Layout Started!

As mentioned in this thread: http://www.the-gauge.com/showthread.php?t=13333 I've decided to revisit the old Gumstump and Snowshoe plan with some modifications. Well, here's an update on my little project. I've decided to loosely model the Old Slow and Easy (Oregon & Southeastern)...

    Couple dilema

Although I don't have much of a roster, I have MT couplers on everything except for a Con-Cor SW 1200 Switcher I have not converted yet. I have a couple of cars by Atlas that have their versions of MT couplers, though. I am not a fan of the rapido couplers.

Looking to start a local club.

Now if you insist on making a pulmonary inquiry, my cholesterol is much better now that I'm exercising and losing a little weight... Sorry, but somebody had to do it! :D Good luck with the club.

Shay inbound. NW forests no longer safe!

The 'men in brown' made the delivery on time today. Received the CWP '1 spot' Atlas Class-B Shay from Trainworld (they are great to deal with, but not too chatty on the phone!). It arrived packed to survived a drop. After an extensive search through the packing material, I found the Atlas box...

    Newbie Roadbed Query...

I figured on gluing the roadbed down to the plywood and spiking the flextrack to the roadbed. I liked working with homasote in sheets, so this looked interesting to me. Thanks for the tips!!!

    Newbie Roadbed Query...

I am referring to a homasote roadbed made by these folks: http://www.homabed.com It looks interesting. I am wondering how easy it is to work with...

    Newbie Roadbed Query...

In a past life I built a layout using 1x2 benchwork with a cookie-cutter plywood base covered with homosote and used cork for the roadbed. I loved the way homosote held the track, but wasn't overly enamored with the cork. I found this product and am considering using this directly on the...

Shay inbound. NW forests no longer safe!

Hopefully it will arrive next week from Trainworld. I plan to put it to use on a VERY small logging layout based on Geren Mortensen's so called "little layout" (an extended version of the old gumstump & snowshoe plan) I hope to build sometime soon. I have been researching the OP&E in Western...

    Security fencing

Hey, among other things, they also offer "feminist roadkill". Now isn't that nice? Guess it's their idea of comedy. Kinda sad, I think. http://goldmm.com/nscale/gmnkill.htm
