    Alien: Narcissus project

Thank you very much for the advice, I definitely need it As for the three views, I used them as a background for my real 3 views layout, since the sources I gathered are of different origins and detail. For my first draft, I came up with this, which is not the final version, but the kind...

    Alien: Narcissus project

Well, after a few hours of fiddling with Metasequoia, and just under a minute in Pepakura designer, my current conclusion is that "It might actually work!" Now that the proof of concept is done, time to do things seriously :p

    Alien: Narcissus project

Thank you for the suggestions I can indeed add a set of optional parts that would help raise the details. And the oversized recessed panels is a great idea,, cool :)

    Alien: Narcissus project

Thanks everyone for the interest :) I'm planning on starting with a simple version: - Relatively low poly count - Detailed texture Then, when I'm more confident with the tools, I'll go for more 3D details ... And a dream would be a removable canopy that would reveal the cryo tube...

    Alien: Narcissus project

Hi there, After having built many models, and seen how Metasequoia and Pepakura designer work, I'm ready to start my own project ... I'm going to design a model for the Narcissus escape shuttle where Ripley faces the Alien in the first movie, and is found in hypersleep at the beginning of...

    Super Star Destroyer paper model

Hi erebus This is an awesome project you're starting! I'd love to build it too! I'll see if I can help with any pics I might have ... Side note: I was wondering how long this beast would be if scaled to milleniumfalsehood's current large models ... massive, and just impossible to build in...

USS SULACO by SKODA/ Jan Rükr / 1:320 Tuning

Haha, me too, and it took me some time! Maybe the glue fumes don't help, I've been papercrafting for several days now

    Large scale Imperial Warships

Well thank you Zathros and Milleniumfalsehood :) I'm but a novice with a few experience in this field, but I just love the screen-to paper-to tangible object process of papercraft. And the fact that the final object is made with low-tech tools takes us back to ... well, crafting, obviously...

    Large scale Imperial Warships

The upper hull is almost finished ... and she's still a beauty! A few notes: - My yellowish paper gives the ISD a "more than used" look, as if it had needed replacement of full bridges sections after a particularly fierce battle :) - I couldn't gather enough energy to build the 24 support...

    Large scale Imperial Warships

Well, I started the Imperial II Star Destroyer It's so big! And not so difficult to assemble after all. I just had to trim a few parts (3 turbolasers on the upper hull, and a box-like part) so that their lower part follows the slant of the hull, but that was really easy to solve. I'm still...

Cut, fold and glue between the steps.

Great builds, I particularly like your Tydirium shuttle :) I also built a couple a few weeks ago ... quick and relatively easy, and ... yes, I couldn't help playing with them afterwards :p And the VSD is still incomplete, I know ...

    Is Jan Rükr still papercrafting?

Well there are so many things to discover already here ... I just don't know where to start! :p I guess my mind will be set on my Imperial II Star Destroyer first, we'll see where I go from there ...

    Is Jan Rükr still papercrafting?

Well, the Narcissus is a sleek looking little ship. Jan has it on his ToDo list, but since he's busy with other projects, maybe it's time to consider other alternatives... Oh, and I guess a Nostromo would make a nice paper "monstruosity". Have you eve seen models of either ship?

    Is Jan Rükr still papercrafting?

All right, thanks for the info. It's nice to see his talent is being recognized. I just don't know if I"m ready for a Sulaco ... maybe I'll start with a Narcissus ... if I ever find one! And if I don't, maybe that would be a good moment to start looking at Pepakura on the designer side...

    Large scale Imperial Warships

Well, I downloaded the Imperial II model ... and just printed the first page (on A4 size paper) It looks great, I'm very excited to start this!!! Well, I can only do this in the evenings, between all the usual tasks coming with a parent and family life ;) But this is going to be a great...

    Outland Shuttle Build

Hi there, I'm new here, and just discovered this thread. Once I started reading it, I just had to read it all in one go, and marvel at the precision and creativity prowess. Very inspiring! Thank you so much for showing how far passion and dedication can make one go.

    Large scale Imperial Warships

A one meter Nebulon-B! Well then ... I guess I now have to: - send a plea for forgiveness to the trees - design an infinite toner mechanism - get used to the glue fumes invading the room - convince my wife that it is a must-have designer piece of art - find 1000+ hours I'm not...

    Death Star Diorama

I second that ... I'd also love a "Trench Run" diorama with Luke, Vader and his wingmen, followed by Han ("You're clear kid!") :thumb:
