The Building of the Galactic Fleet

    Question About SeaIing

I started with a very light, mist coat on this Berserk Battlestar model. & It worked! The pic doesn't really do it justice, but I applied your suggestion Zathros, & started with a light mist & very slowly increased with light coats. The results were much more even & satisfying.:) guess I had...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Hey, thanks Skyseeker! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the shuttle. I don't think I'll be building too many of these mini's. Too hard on my nerves! & I did have to buy a little pair of tweezers, first time I've ever needed them. But the little ones are still fun to look at up next to...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

The first 4 pics of this set are of the finished Berserk Battlestar. Note the entrance to the flight deck on the underbelly of the midsection. The 5th pic is of the completed cockpit bubble of the Geminon Traveler. Please pay no attention to the rough edges. This was one of the first models I...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks for the links Sky Seeker. The Defender & the Prometheus are on my to do list in the next few months. I love the progress pics you've posted on those 2 models, & I will definitely refer to them while building mine. They look really good! I've already built the TOS Galactica, but mine isn't...

    Question About SeaIing

Just looked at the specs for my current printer. It's an Epson XP-410 & uses a Durabrite Ultra pigment ink (smudge, fade & water resistant). We just bought it a few months ago & Ive been very happy with it. It's small, but great for my uses. I love the wi-fi feature that allows me to print from...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks! They are so fun to build. The true talent though is with the guys that designed these templates. The attention to detail is just amazing! I appreciate the hard work all you guys put into these models, & making them available for the rest of us. My wife thanks you too, cuz now I have a...

    Question About SeaIing

Ok, thanks! I'll start a light mist to start with on my next clear coat. On previous models, the glue joints are usually shinier than everything else after spraying a clear coat. Guess I've been starting a bit heavy. I'll check my printer too, to make sure the ink is right.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Serenity is not part of the fleet, but she's been a pleasure to work on. Here is a pic of the Geminon Traveler (minus 2 engines). Almost done with it.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Here is my first attempt at Serenity. It has been such a learning project. I am planning to build another one soon, hopefully without so many mistakes. That is the beauty of these paper models. If you mess up, you can always build another! :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

& another view. Still a long way to go on the Galactica. It's going to be the centerpiece of my collection, so I'm taking my sweet time with it. Hope to keep posting pics as it progresses.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I am just finishing up the Berserk Battlestar. Here are a few pics with it along with the 3 ft. Galactica I've been making slow progress on.

    Question About SeaIing

I ask because I' ve slowly been building the Galactica Fleet. I have a 24' by 42' woodworking shop, where I hang some of my models. This past spring, the shop flooded, just a few inches. But when the weather warmed up, & the humidity increased, the models didn't fare so well. For some, the glue...

    Question About SeaIing

Hello, I am pretty new to the forums. But I have built quite a few paper models in the past year. Whenever I finish a model, I usually seal it with a Krylon clear coat. For my plastic models, this usually looks very nice. But for my paper models, it sometimes turns out pretty splotchy. I try to...

    Death Star dilemma

Thanks for the assist! Don't know why, but I started at the equator region & worked my way up. I get so excited when starting a new model & sometimes get in too big of a hurry. Fortunately, I only have a small part of a half sphere done. My wife really frowns on me re-printing parts I've messed...

    Death Star dilemma

Hello, this is the first time I've been on since joining a few months ago. I am currently working on the Death Star model from PaperStarships. Does anyone know where or if I can find instructions for this model? It seems pretty common sense, but I've already run into a few issues, like getting...
