The Building of the Galactic Fleet

To all who read my posts, I started this thread primarily to post pics of my Galactica builds. But, I do get busy with other models from Sailing ships, Civil War Ironclads, real space , airplanes, Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5 & several other categories. I have anywhere from 10 to 20 models...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks, I like that, Keep on greebling! Sounds like it should be a song. By Creedence or somebody like that. ;)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks for the input! I am not computer or camera savvy, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :) I'll make sure to tone down the resolution.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Skyseeker, I had a lot of mistakes I made on the Gearz Galactica, so I've been reluctant to post any close up pics of her. :(

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Apologies! I was wondering why it was taking so long to load. Thanks for letting me know about that. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

The past few pics, (after the AT-AT pics) were done with a "different" camera. Not a new camera, just different. A digital camera that my wife bought a few years ago. I think it takes clearer pics than my ipad, so I'll probably use it for a little while. I do, however, plan to get a better one soon.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I've considered the 3 ft. Galactica the centerpiece to my collection, so I've been taking my time on it. I've started some "greebling" on the topside, & soon to move down the port & starboard sides. It takes a lot of patience, & ink.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

The "finished" Galactica fleet so far, the TOS Galactica, (one of my first builds), the colonial shuttle, Berzerk Battlestar, & Battlestar Pegasus. The fishing line doesn't usually show up in real life, its just some "movie magic".

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

The bridge section of the 3 ft. Galactica, I will try to post some better progress builds for this ship in my future posts. I deviated on Steve's original design for the skeleton of this section, so I won't show it. It turned out ok, but it could've gone bad. For the mid & engineering sections...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks for watching! I don't know if I'll post any more pics of this particular Excelsior. I may start a new Star Trek build thread, apart from the Galactica thread, & build the newer version( I've got a LOT of Trek ships I'm planning to build in the days ahead) As I've said, I'm bad about...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I found Maverick65's build thread "Jays B5 Station Build" a huge help, as I was having a hard time with some of the parts. ( sorry, I'm a book person, not a computer person. I'm still trying to figure out how to post links). You may have seen his thread. Anyway, he has some amazing pics of his...

    BSG Defender

Christine U's Voyager is just awesome! Can't wait to do my own build on it! ;) I'm hoping to finish a few other models before I start on it though, it's going to take a lot of focus methinks. I was looking at your build pics of your Prometheus, & I love your idea of using small magnets to...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

A good question! I do actually have the reworked version saved on my computer, but I had already printed the original version. I have had several instances of printing a model, only to finding a newer version soon after. I have stacks of printed models waiting to be built, & don't want to waste...

    BSG Defender

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

& then there's the newborn AT-AT, not quite weaned & not quite able to walk. Hoping to start on the legs this week, along with the guns & other extras.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Another ship I've been working on. Clever Santoro's U.S.S. Excelsior from the Star Trek movies. Our good Master Zathros gave me some really good suggestions on making a better model. Cutting off the tabs & making my own. I've really tried to put that into practice on this model, with amazing...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

My Babylon 5 station, from Jaybats design. I reinforced the spine of the station by using 2 spliced together rolls from Glad's Press n' Seal wrap. I had to make a few sleeves on the end pieces, & cut some circular supports from foamboard on the wider pieces. But other than that, the tubes were...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I apologize, I'm still so bad about taking progress pics. But, here are 3 of my current distractions keeping me from continuing on the "Galactica Fleet" . Jay bats Babylon 5 station, Clever Santoro's U.S.S. Excelsior, & the AT-AT from SF Paper Craft ( not sure of the designer at this point).

    BSG Defender

Wow Skyseeker! That model is looking great! Your seams look so clean. Really look forward to seeing more pics of this model! Are the turrets the ones you designed? They look good too! I know it's hard to find time, but keep it up! :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Zathros, I am looking to hopefully get a new camera soon, this iPad mini is great, but like you said not good for close ups of models. I appreciate the input. :)
