SD 14 General Cargo Ship anyone got an impression?

John John, Have you measured the place where it's going to be built..., two, have you figured out how you're going to get it out of the aforementioned place? In any case please give us an in focus peep show of your progress. Best regards, Gil

    Digital Navy's BB-3 Oregon, 1:250

Ok Michael, How many times must you do a part of the model before you show it to us? It's too perfect to have accomplished the first time around..., Humor aside your work is simply "as designed". Must make Roman just a little nervous. Best Regards & Thanks, Gil

    Spitfire kits

Leif, thanks for the report. I guess you're not up to a build till you finish the P-39. I'll have to wait till it arrives at the North American suppliers to keep the postage within reason. Gil

    Digital Navy's BB-3 Oregon, 1:250

Michael, Beautiful hull bottom! The time it takes for the paint to dry can be hastened by finding a warm spot in the house or shop. I have a convection heater for the shop that I place a wire screen on to protect the heater and place various parts that need to be dried. A steam readiator...

    Still waiting

Markus, Are you complaining to us all or to embarass the poor dealer(?) who not only has to put up with people like us but also their (and then our) national post system which always fails to amaze anyone with anything approaching service and a misappropriated raison de'etre...., I know...

    Ongoing investigation

Sorry Roman but you left it out and there it was, nobody else around and the cat with nothing to do and bored out of his gord decided it was time to play...., Cats are always guilty of model wacking. Hate to admit how many models went down to scatch, gnaw and general wacking around...

    Spitfire kits

Leif, Best to wait and see what the Halinski kit brings. I just received their P-51 and am toying with the all aluminum idea once again but after looking at the detail it's a little difficult to justify doing it in aluminum as the print detail is so very good. All that and more would...

    Spitfire kits

Leif, You're nearing the ultimate model build, scratch frame and custom skins..., the kit serves only as a guide. One question of the spit-design.jpg. Is that from the kit or have you already started the framing for it? Quote from your first post: "I know I will make some...

    Digital Navy Fuso

Barry, I'm appalled!!!! It stopped raining long enough to get an outside picture! Great bow shot. It would be interesting to know how the Fuso came to have that towering pagoda. Must have been politics..., Best regards, Gil

    Digital Navy Fuso

Barry, I've been following your build. What a trek! Your shot of the "Pagoda" really brought home the height of the structure. Folks on the lower decks must have had to use umbrellas to keep the seasick lookout ejecta off them in even the lightest of sea conditions...., Gil

    Admirable replacement

Rick, Wow! That's exactly what I was thinking! Felt it would be a little too retrograde to all the other suggested entries...., mustn't forget a good set of realistic looking oars to go along with it. Gil
