    Crewe Works Open Weekend.

Bombardier Transportation are hosting an open weekend at their Crewe workshops in Cheshire, England. I visited yesterday and thought you might like to see some examples of the locos that were present. Sorry about some of the shots but the bright sunshine was not always a help to photography...

    Attaching homasote?

Thanks Robin and David, From your descriptions I am pretty sure that Homasote and Sundeala are basically the same material. What still confuses me is that many modellers live in fear of Homasote getting wet when building scenery. The Homasote company actually say that it is suitable for...

    Attaching homasote?

Robin, Does your picture show a piece of true Homasote or is it just insulation board? Here in the U.K. we have used a material called Sundeala for many years and I was always led to believe that it was the same as Homasote. Like Homasote (and other insulation boards)Sundeala is made from...

    British N-Scale layout

No problems Charlie. That looks much better and has really compensated for the mixed flourescent/tungsten lighting. You did what I was too lazy to do :D :D :D John.

    British N-Scale layout

When Gavin (Miller) recently showed us his excellent balsa wood bridge project it made me think of a British N-scale layout that I once built. On my layout I too had a balsa wood bridge but it was much smaller and I modelled it as being “under construction” with cranes and building workers...

    Big Bend

Fantastic Robin !!!! Even when we are lucky enough to have plenty of space most of us still squeeze in as much railroad as possible. Your photos prove just how rewarding and realistic the results can be if that temptation is resisted. John.

    Electric sub-station

It's amazing how many versions of nearly the same kit are available  In this thread we have seen versions from Con Cor and Model Power. In this photo from my old layout is another almost identical substation from the German PIKO company. I wonder who made the original kit ????;)...

Good luck MSH. It's obvious from your website that you are far too talented to remain unemployed for long :) Take care, John.
