    What do you read?

I read MR and Model Railroad news. I also like to read science fiction and mystery books. One of my favorite spy books was the Matt Helm series written by Donald Hamilton. Also like to read computer magazines to keep up with what's going on. Also starting to read more about photography so as...

    Dirty track and YOU

Mine is in the basement. Ore of the steps I took was to paint the entire basement floor with Rustoleum epoxy paint for basements. Not only does it cut way down on dust, it brightens up the basement. The other step ws to occasionally ( once or twice a year) put a couple drops of Wahl Clipper...

    Dirty track and YOU

I clean track around construction zones and I cleaned the wheels on all of my cars once. I was in the train room a couple weeks ago for the first time since last spring and everything was working fine. Tom

    Weekend projects

I started a project to couple two MDC "Critters" permanently in order to avoid the occasional stalls on turnouts. I plan to wire them so only one headlight lights in each direction. I need to find some small flexible wire to complete the project. I read a suggestion somewhere to use an old...

    Need help identifying a location

I've been working on this also and after more careful examination with magni-visor and magnifying glass and flashlight, it appears as though the engine number is 904. The print is rather washed out so it's hard to be certain. Thanks for all the help so far! Tom

    Need help identifying a location

Thanks for all the info, everyone! I will try using Google images to see if I can narrow it down from there. I did take the back off and there is no information there. I even tried a magnifying glass on the engines and still couldn't make out the name. What I could tell was the last two...

I purchased this photo at a train show last weekend and am curious about the location. It appears to be somewhere in the southwest. Can anyone narrow it down a little closer? Tom

    Weekly Photo Fun 8/17

The paint scheme is a little deceptive. The engine is lettered SRY Rail Link. Both the SRY and MRL are owned by a conglomerate listed as The Washington Companies. SRY stands for Southern Railway of British Columbia. Here's another shot of them already at work. The switching crew is making...
