well Here are my latest attempts... Getting frustrating.. and will probably be my last for a while.. I think I am better at weathering and detailing a kit that is already designed and cut... I am getting frustrated with my building skills...

Well today I decided to go get some styrene and test my scratch building skills.... It is not finished yet.. I have to get some more styrene and modiy the layout so it fits right... but here is my first attempt... a trackside exchange Oh yeah I decided to name it after the inspiration :)

I took a courogated (sp?) card board box and gently yook one of the outside (smooth layer) off to expose the "rows" I am thinking about putting some of those brass corn stalks I have seen in there.. Thanks a bunch... this site has help so much when it comes to ideas and help doing things...

after all the foam cutting I became pretty handy with the foam cutter and sculpted a retaining wall and girders

Being a newbie this thread is great!!!!!:D I have found that being on a limited layout budget has helped my imagination when it comes to building things from scratch. I bought a foam cutter from Michael's craft store for $6.00 and have learned how to use that bad boy as if it were a scalpel...
