The N scale Climax concept LIVES!!!!

well the mechisim is fun to watch on the bench power, but I still have yet to get it to move under it's own power. I think I might have to start on V 4.0 soon, this, like the previous versions, is cursed with bad drive trucks. i need to break down and buy a few Kato Shorty B critter chassis and...

The N scale Climax concept LIVES!!!!

N scale Climax V 3.0 almost running OK so the climax has now gone into it's 3rd version, and I think I got it right this time, the mechnisim is fairly smooth, and made of brass, so it is strong, (except one spot where I got to re-enforce) it is only front trock drive, but it should work once I...

Is thomas or Hogwarts express available in N scale.

Thomas is avaible in N scale, Check E-bay, I wee them there all the time, and they have sevral diffrent locos and rolling stock. the Hogwarts express was produced in HO but I don't think it was ever done in N scale, but I see no reason why you couldn't put the train together yourself, a loco...

    shipping a layout?

Trucking co is your answer. Well man, you best bet is going to crate up your layout, and ship it by a truckign company, that isn't cheep but it is cheeper than the alternitives, be sure to make the crate really sturdy and mark it "fragile as eggs." I shipped a 2.5' X 4.5' Layout from San...

    Novelty boxcars

It is more of a collectors thing rather than a running thing. Most people who buy those kinds of rolling stock don't run them, usually they are displayed. but like any rule their is exceptions. Myself I like the prototypical stuff ;)

    PRR G4a

Check some of Kato's Japanese models, they have a really good running 4-6-0 but it needs quite a bit of work to make it look like a american/australian prototype.

    Atlas GP-7 Quality? (N scale)

Yep, Matter of the fact I has 2 of them, a GP-9 in NP, and a GP-7 T.T. In MILW they all have the same mechnisim, and I love them, smooth and strong, Matter of the fact, they will pull 5 cars up my unrealistic grade accrost the center of my layout with no problems (close to 9%!!!). they take a...

are your engine fairly old? like older than manufactured code 55 track? probally the flanges on the wheels interfearing witht the "spikes" on the track. if that is the case, switch to low-profile wheelsets. there are companys out there that make low profile wheelsets for alot of difffrent locos...
