    Gauge Boxcar-World Tour '03

BTW, I am working on getting the software to convert files into PDF puppies, so that when my new computer arrives at my house next week, I should be able to provide the Gauge containers (all versions) as PDF files for those of you interested to print out.

    DPM Kit Assembly

I haven't, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Keep in mind, though, that this will make the building narrower than what is indicated on the packaging (probably not a big deal, but just something to keep in mind). Let me know how it turns out; I rather like their stuff, I just posted a...

    Atlas & Camber

As some of you may know, a number of peoples on the Atlas forum decided to build DPM model #103 and paint/decal it for any building you chose so long as the name had "Atlas" in it somewhere. Just for kicks, here's my entry - Atlas & Camber Appliance Distribution to be located in Amarillo TX...

    Gauge Boxcar-World Tour '03

I notice someone asked about the container template. Give me a day or so to contemplate how best to do that --- I do a lot of the work in Publisher so the text is crisper; if you have Publisher that's not a problem of course, but I know a lot of you don't have it, so I'll have to think of some...

    ACK! Graphics Help

I'm wondering if someone has some good ideas. I'm working on some 53' reefer trailers for my layout, based on those of the company I work for (Lilydale Foods here in Edmonton). Somehow I managed to get my hands on the original graphics that go on the side of our trucks (see below for a quick...

    Cattle Car Leasing Co.

I’m trying to do a little bit of research for my layout. Has anyone heard of the Cattle Car Leasing Co. (reporting mark CBPX), and/or have any information on same ??? Apparently they were around in the 1970’s.

How many do you really need?

Well, according to my calculations I will need a total of 84 locomotives for my basement empire (right now of course I need a lot less for the 7 x 12 in the garage) --- FORTY THREE (43) Rock Island units, TWENTY SEVEN (27) Southern Pacific, NINE (9) Santa Fe units, three CN units, and a pair of...

    Ice Rink

So, this may be "out there", but I was wondering if anyone's ever constructed an ice rink for their railroad, and how they did it. The only thing I can come up with so far is a transparent film (or plexiglass) with a gloss coat or dull coat (I think I'd try both to see what I liked better)...

    Potash Mine Revisited

Very kewl. I had a potash mine planned for my original layout (plans have since changed); I had pics and everything of various locations, and I must say, yours is VERY realistlc. Excellent work.

    ???'s Re: Blank Decal Paper

Microscale also does custom decal runs for very reasonable amounts ($135US for 250 sheets, minimum order). Obviously I'd never need 250 sheets, but it's still a pretty good deal. I'm currently working on putting together an acceptable Coreldraw file for my TTH Wheat Kings grain hoppers (I've...

    ???'s Re: Blank Decal Paper

I've been buying Bel Decals since I started doing the same. And yes, inkjet printers work. Certainly not as good as quality as an ALPS will do (or a professional printer), but not bad at all. You can check out the results at my webpage.

    Neighbourly Interchange

I've considered this a couple of times; one with a fellow railroader in the US (we were planning to mail the car(s)). The other is with my brother, but he's not really into the hobby at this time (he will return, though, he will return). In that case we'd probably just interchange the cars at...

    Bill Boards Part Deux

I'm wondering if we shouldn't consider having this as another common thread amongst our layouts. Most of us could probably use another billboard . . . so why not have "The Gauge" billboards. Those modelling modern day could include the website address; those not could perhaps do it up as a...

    Corel Draw

Hey guys, I'm wondering if we have any coreldraw experts in the crowd. I sent Microscale a cdr file to do some custom decals for me, and I got this email in response. I only installed cd on the weekend, so while I am very adept at everything computers, they used some lingo which went waaayyyy...

    Calling all Gauge members!

While it definitely sounds kewl, and that's mighty fine hospitality of you Val, mightn't we get together at the NMRA convention in Seattle instead (or in addition to, I suppose). I'm actually planning on going next year, what with it being SIGNIFICANTLY closer to Edmonton (heck, probably as...

Thanks for your suggestions, guys. I'm gonna try Charlie's idea out first and see how that goes.
