    Office Doors

Hey guys. I'm just wondering what everyone else uses for building doors for office-type buildings (such as the ones attached). Nobody really makes anything, and it's one of my biggest quandaries when I'm scratchbuilding.....

    Successfull E&N Railfan attempt

Saw one of these pulling a train through Nanaimo when I was there at Xmas playing disc golf. The track goes right by if you're on or near the eighth hole. Pretty kewl.

Speaking of antiques - from junk to gem - ebay

Well, if I was the owner I'd certainly wanna give the original guy a healthy cut; but it may not be too easy to track him down either.

    Dry Chemical Research

Not a problem to all of the above - just send me a message with your email address in it. And I'm already a member of that group, it's one of the best resources I know on the net. I've already downloaded the industry database for for every region and compiled it into a giant Excel...

    "Antique" Market

Hey guys, my wife dragged me out to an "antique" market with another couple this afternoon, and I was dreading the whole thing. And sure enough, for the first half of this gargantuan complex, it was pretty boring. The only thing that kept me going was that my wife and I are collecting martini...

    Tarped Load

When my wife dragged me to a fabric store some time ago, I couldn't resist buying some John Deere fabric. I finally got around to using most of it up this weekend, creating 7 loads for 60' flat cars. While obviously John Deere wouldn't use this as a tarp in real life (way too expensive to paint...

    building dioramas

Just pick an industry or two that you want in your final layout, and build a diorama around them. If you go to any home store, they'll usually cut plywood for you in whatever dimensions you want (up to a certain number of cuts) for free. So grab a 4 x 4 of 1/2" or 3/4" plywood, and pick a...

    Tires

Speaking of household items, I was wondering - I've got a tire store I'd like to stock the lot with tires of different sorts. But I don't really want to buy any. Does anyone have any other good ideas for what I can use for tires that would be quite inexpensive ???

    Guess What I Am

Newest scratchbuilt industry I'm building for my Hutchinson KS diorama. Dimensions will be 9.75" x 4.75" x 3.5". Two hints: (1) Industry is based on one that actually exists in Hutchinson KS for over 35 years (although the building is totally freelance, I made it to fit the space and have...

    Dry Chemical Research

Where I could find it, I included both the UN Identification Number, and the NFPA/HMIS placard information. I also included the Transportation Emergency Card info where I could find it (this was the hardest to find, though). I'm not sure what other hazmat info would be available besides those...

What Household Items Have You Swiped For Your Layout?

Ugh, don't remind me. My wife and I had a dreaded financial meeting last night. Let's just say I had to make some promises for the next while.

What Household Items Have You Swiped For Your Layout?

Old toothbrushes always end up on my desk for weathering; and I recently scammed three empty vitamin bottles from the recycling station; I figure if I clean them, turn them upside down and bury them, then paint them, they'll make pretty good small silos for a farm.
