    Wiring Questions

David, The eventual plan is to have two express trains swapping ends along the straight sections and two other trains (one local passenger & one freight??) running around the loop. The center section will be shared. This will be under computer control. I don't currently have any plans for...

    A little town in France

Now I'm going to have to build two villages - Mer d'Alors and Clochemerle :) No, wait, I already have plans for an industrial park - that can be Mer d'Alors and the village can be Clochemerle. I had planned for a church in the village and I think an iron "pissoir" would be an excellent...

    A little town in France

Thanks all for your kind words. David, >"Clochemerle". (Am I both obscure and dating myself?) I'm afraid you might be at least one of those :( Cloche is a bell (or a tramp / bum) Merle is a blackbird That doesn't help much  :)

    Wiring Questions

I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to start. I've attached my track plan. The actual track is a little different but it's logically the same - I reshaped the loop on the right and moved the sidings inside the loop but all the connections are in the same places. I'm still not sure if I'm...

Hand made Catenary (I must be insane)

Graham, Nice shot - how about posting it to my TGV thread in the new international section? I had seen the Sommerfeld stuff before. It looks nice but you have to be sitting down when you start adding the prices up  I'm having thoughts about casting my own masts. I think Hydrocal...

Hand made Catenary (I must be insane)

Graham, If it helps, there's at least two of us. I haven't found much useful information yet but this site may have some suitable pictures: http://www.trainweb.org/tgvpages/tgvindex.html

    Can I be first?

Boy, I've really been waiting for this section! [Edit] For some reason, I can't seem to change this image. I'll just delete it and repost the right one.

    Can I be first?

An interesting little shot that I call "The Hitch-hiker". It was taken at the Sauschwänzle railway in the Black Forest.

TestVille, a 1x4 handlaid test layout

Please excuse a "newbie" question  That's a pretty amazing achievement but what is the advantage of hand-laying track? Is it just a question of appearance or is there some other reason?

    Where to start?

Thanks all for your kind words. The next project is going to be bigger - a whole town - but, in some ways, easier - it isn't any specific town. This means I can freelance the buildings. I have plenty of pictures to use from various parts of France and can just pick out the nice buildings :)...
