    Big Boy N Scale

I have both the Con-Cor Challenger and Big Boy (latter version). Both pull well and have been great attention getters at public shows. I also have one of the earlier release Big Boys that I bought from a friend knowing it had a dead motor and have been planning to remotor it but never have done...

Trestle I looked at useing the bamboo skewers there size wasn't what I was looking for. I bassed my trestle on a local abanded one that is three cross brace sections high, and uses round pilings. Brady

    Water Treatment plant.

The old water tower is still standing in Liverpool N.S., there are no tracks any more. I don't get down there very often, it's about 30 minutes in the wrong direction. Next time I'm going to try and remember my camera. Brady

    Working From Plans

In building my trestle I had problem finding round stock for the uprights. I ended up useing the long one ended Q tips from a drug store, way cheaper then buying dowels. When you cut of the tip you have 5 3/8". Plus the fact the local hobby shop only stocks what they use in RC planes. I'm...

    early era

I know the photo I attached is going to raise some questions the passenger section carried 16. I know of another Porter from the same era that was converted from 2-4-4T to 2-4-0 with a 4 wheel tender. That I'd also like to model. I wish some one would produce and sell drivers for N scale...

    early era

IF your keeping track you better keep adding. I'm modeling CN in the mid fifties and I'm considering modeling Springfield Railway a local logging line the ended operations in 1920. They had 3 shays so I want to get an Atlas Shay problem 1 $$. they also had a 2-4-4T Porter, I don't expect to see...

    Working From Plans

I'm all for scratch building in N scale. I do it, among other things I've built a trestle that I'm quite happy with. For N scale you might want to look for some Gloor Craft or Quality Craft kits (I think they are not on the market any more but you might find them at flee markets) I have a the...

    Chevy, Ford, or Mopar?

I have two of the Spectrum 2-8-0's I like. A friend has a Roundhouse 2-8-0 {turn of century} it is nice. Roundhouse and Atlas both have 2-6-0's I haven't seen but have heard good. Atlas now has the Shay it is just new I hope to get one. Bachmann has a 0-6-0 I've heard some good on' I'm a little...

    Did LifeLike do E8's?

Andrew I don't know if LL did them in CP colours. CP only had three E-8's. CN didn't run any until they got two a few years ago when they purchased one of the lines in the states. They painted them in the old Green gold schem and used them for pulling private cars they looked great. I think I...

2-10-4 trailing truck I'm interested to know what you do for the trailing truck. If I'm not mistaken the trailing truck on CN's 5700's was very simular and I hope to do one of them in the future, useing an old B'mann "dead" 4-8-4 for drivers and build from there up. I have some other projects...
