Model Of The Month: 1/4 Scale Mercury Capsule: Done 1/1 Scale

Excuse my ignorence...I'm not that well versed on the mercury capsule, but what exactly was the telescope used for? I know there was a window in front of the astronaut. Was there some sort of camera mounted inside, maybe for gathering film footage to be sent back to NASA?

    Enterprise and Reliant at 1:4000

I don't know how you guys build these teeny tiny models, such tedium. I have a hard enough time with the small parts that go on the big things I build. To Greenman....thats great..LOL:rofl:

In search of 1960's series Lost in Space robot

This one did appear on some of the episodes, and in a few other movies but the one I'm looking for is the one that was part of the crew, they just called him Robot, telliscopic arms. glass bubble on top and rolled on treads.

In search of 1960's series Lost in Space robot

I have seen the Lost in Space robot on Lower Hudson Valley but it's really not a good one, has anyone seen a good, detailed paper model of this robot any where? I'm looking for the robot used in the 1960's series. I think this would be a good designers project, maybe in 1/24 scale.

    Colonial Viper Mk II

I must say this is my favorite viper fighter. I have this printed out already and have been sitting on it, I want to enlarge it. It's very well designed, structual framing inside the main fuselage, detailed instructions, looks like an enjoyable build. Excellent job, very clean, do you plan on...

    R2D2 Build small scale

I see.....I thought, judging by you're edit signature my be it had something to do with the religous philosophical overtones of the movie. May the force be with you....and all that.

    R2D2 Build small scale

juntopi.....it's on pg 2 of this forum, the last I read was a guy working on the design, putting out feelers to see if anyone would be interested in building one in 1 to 1 scale. The title of the thread is R2D2 pep build. Mellinneum...actually it's not paint, it's a metallic silver sharpy, I...

    R2D2 Build small scale

Stormtrooper...I found this on paper-replika.com. It's a fairly simple build. All the pieces that make the dome are connected on the print out but to make it look good I cut all of them apart glued in strips of paper as backing so the seems would be smoother, and you can get a better curve shape...

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

I have no idea, they were part of the kit. Darkants is the designer, I'm shure he would know, maybe if he checks back in to see the progress he'll read this and give us an answer.

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

Ok....here's the cut down version. I actually kept two sections of the muzzle, no more droop, turned out great, and still looks leathal.

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

Here's a little perspective on the size of this thing. As you can see the muzzle still droops, even after beefing it up with toung depresser sticks to no avail. I will be cutting the muzzle down to one section only, it won't be an exact replica but it will correct the droop and still look leathal.

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

And finally the completed product. This thing is a monster, it's easily five feet long. Alot of ink, alot parts. The large end of the barrel is weighty, even after beefing up the end of the fore grip with card board, and useing an extra roll of card stock around the small part of the barrel it...

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

In building the butt stock the plan calls for paper rolled into 1/4 x 11 inch rolls. I wanted the butt to slide so I used 1/4 x 15 inch wood dowls, cut holes in the slide mounts.

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

Building the magazine, this part is quite large, wide spaces has little structual integrety so I put in some framing.

    M200 1:1 rifle...under construction.

On to the barrel. I originally built it by scoring the lines in the print out but after gluing the pieces together it came out curved. So reverting to my rocket building experiance, I curled the pieces, glued in paper inside and made cylinders that slid together, with much better results.

Improvise, adapt, and over come...To DA, the photo you posted didn't upload, not to worry I made a part to fix the problem.

    Victoria's secrets?

Thanks for the heads up but I think you've missed the point here. It was originally a joke, several weeks ago there was a victorya's secret ad that was running in a loop, several very hot scantily clad V.S. models, it was quite distracting, but it's long gone now. It's one of those...you had to...

Looks like somethings missing. There's a taper to the part leading to the magazine clip, if the grip is placed flatly on the body it put's it too far back from the mag according to the photos.
