I need a track plan book focused on on small spaces

Im not looking for Linn wescott book or a John armstrong book, well maybe I am. I need a book with a good selection of track plans for small spaces, I've been thinking about Iain rices "Small smart and practical track plans" Any suggestions?

Derailments and the modelers who deal with them.

I have a strange affixation with derailment threads... Derailment. The D word. The sound of 300 dollars worth of fine detailed rolling stock barreling down a 2% grade to the tune of a broken #5. That echoing rattling noise deep in a tunnel. The mistaken throttle push that sent your empire...

    What exactly is a "Slug"?

Would there be any way to model one of these "slugs" without resorting to a dummy? DCC and a low power motor?

    A Quick and Easy fix---

Was it behind the 0-6-0? I had a bachman 0-6-0 (Yard switcher, not the wonderful tank engine they came out with a few years ago) that would shake itself and any cars directly behind it off the track, And it was the scenic railroads engine! Many HO scale men, women and children met their deaths...

Now for something completely different (More little brothers track plan)

A major step away from the northeastern city look of the bridge plan to a packed great lakes carfloat scene with a major mainline running through it, 3 industrys, a nice sized yard and the two carfloats. Yellow is up grade, Only a slight grade just tall enough to get up over the tunnel.

Now for something completely different (More little brothers track plan)

From the mountains to the waterfront: (Red thing is a bridge, gray is going to be street track, blue is water) Any tips? (Once again its not made to be a sound operator, the sidings are mostly for show)

Mantua: code 83 or code 100 track ?

I think pretty much any american companys locomotives will run on code 83. The only ones you have to worry about are european stuff.

Model power: Cheap junk? or an alterative to the big guys?

Model power. We've all had our run in's with them, be it a cheap kit to finish a scene, a freight car (With some work those frieght cars can be something). I've been scaning around for kits for the new layout, And model power stuff has caught my eye, I figure with some work those under 20$ kits...

    Playing with Trains-The Book

    1. Not everyone likes to build benchwork 2. Rolf wired the layout out of his own volition (He didnt hire Rolf, Rolf did work on the layout because he enjoys the hobby) 3. See 2 4. When does he say that, the engine he bought at the Red Caboose was a X-mas gift for his son 5. God forbid a woman...

Little brothers track plan once again...

Thanks for the comments. The layout isnt designed for operation, my brothers only 8 and I think the only thing he wants is fast passenger trains and room for long frieghts to strech out, I threw In the Industrys and the branch line to add some flavor and maybe something for me to do as my layout...

    What size radius...

Nol, an easement is starting the curve with say, a 19'' curve peice and "easing" into 11'' or something along those lines. Its less intensive on the poor SD90's trucks.

    What size radius...

Now that i've answered a question I have to ask you more experianced types, I designed my little brothers future layout using 11'' sectional because of space woes, also the turnouts are #4s would his horizon fleet amtrack coaches and his Dash-9's make it through these turnouts? If so the...
