    Some progress at last

This weekend I finally got some work done on my layout.I got all the feeder wires soldered in place and connected to the bus wires. I tested my loco and it ran great. I will sometime down the road replace the power pack. It is from the original train set that I got back in the 70's and it's seen...

Has this ever happened to you?

Thanks guys-at least I'm not the only one that this has happened to. I suspect part of my problem is that I tend to get antsy when I see the layout just sitting there waiting while I attend to other things. Bob

    Historical Background

While construction on my layout is on hold I deceided to try and find historical background for it. Although my layout is purely freelanced/imaginary I still thought it would be fun. My layout is a 2'x8' switching layout inspired by Progressive Rails Air Lake Industrial Park in Minn. Hear are...

    Are you a model railroader?

    Are you a model railroader?

Rob-the framework is made from 1x4's and the top is 9/16 plywood sanded smooth on one side.I got it at Lowes and it actually came in 2'x4' pieces. The complete bench work is actually not all that heavy and is fairly easy to handle-Bob

I am building a 2'x8' HO switching layout. The track is down but I have to put things on hold for a while then I can start next phase-soldering and running feeder wires.Bob

What type of roads for industrial area?

Thanks again to all for the replies. There is one more type of road that I over looked that might work in an industrial setting. As a kid I remember that when the neighborhood roads would get re-surfaced they would first put down a coat of hot oil (it might have had some liquid asphalt in it) and...

What type of roads for industrial area?

Sumpter250-Thanks for the reply and the info-I appreciate.I know what you mean about asphalt in hot weather.I'll probably go with concrete. As far as grade crossings go I'll have to see about that one.I'll look at what's commercially available and see if it out weighs making my own-Bob

What type of roads for industrial area?

Now that construction on my layout has come to a screeching halt I have deceided to use the time to finish a couple of small projects and finalize the location of buildings. I do have a couple of questions,My layout is a switching layout-not a game or anything like that.It was inspired my the...

    Location-Location???

Thanks Kevin-I agree.Even though the upright supports will be basically in a straight line the overpass itself will be angled. And yes some of the foreground track is parallel to the front edge of the layout it is set back from the edge with structures in front of the track so that it will not...

    Location-Location???

While I'm waiting for my LHS to call me telling me that my last Peco turnout is in I have been busy trying to see in which position my vehicle overpass looks best. The first picture shows it going straight back on the layout The second picture shows it on an angle to the left I prefer it...

    Track question

Dave-What's your point? All that means nothing to me. My layout is a small switching layout-2'x8'-no curves to speak of.I have deceided to solder the joints and add feeders.
