Due to my constant condition of terminal poverty I never did work a coupler gauge into my budget I started with a piece of flex track and have used the same GP35 to set all my couplers, works so far.

While it would be groovy to have lights I have setled for making sure all the buttons are one way fir straight and the other way for diverging so I can tell at a glance what's going on.{assuming there is not a piece of ballast in the points putting one of my GP's in the ditch}

I have used contact cleaner with good results, spray some on the track wiper make a trip or two ,wipe off the wiper and repeat. I don't have a lot of steel rail but have a couple of Life Like switches{ I feel funny calling them "turnouts" for some reason}that need more attention than the rest...
