    Prototype information - Interested?

Well, that's just it, it isn't very much "generally available" as it is industry stuff, but, it's stuff put out by these companies for training purposes, so it is ok I'm sure to post. They're generally made available to railroad employees and trainers. Then there is things like the CFR49 that...

    Prototype information - Interested?

I was just cleaning up my desk (I'll try and attach a photo of WHY) and the SESSPOOL of papers, books and other crap is starting to hamper my ability to work. This is my home office and it's a mess. A lot of it is locomotive and car technical manuals and other related industry stuff that I use...

Stewart Hobbies: Good, Bad or The Ugly?

I have always been pleased with everything I have encountered and owned that was stamped "Stewart". Their U-25B's, FT's and F3's are very nice, run GREAT and are good lookers.

Gawd than engine looks naked without the nose door. I swear, next time we have it in Portola for a long layover, I'm going to fire up ye' 'ol trusty vinyl cutter and make a black door outline decal for it so it looks "normal" in photos. :thumb: Also looks nekkid without the Jolly Roger flags...

    YOUR Freelance Road?

That's a heck of a layout you have there Ralph. I'm sorry, I don't mean to Hi-jack the thread, but I've always admired that layout and it's big city feel, not very easy to pull off on a model railroad. You did though very nicely.

That is great news J., even if it isn't in a lingerie store, lol. Sounds like a great fit, young, enthusiastic, ambitious go-getter who loves to cook and a possible franchising option. Sounds like a real winner to me. Congratulations on this great opportunity. You sound like a great fit and...

Hawthorne Village 50th Anniversary Corvette Train

I bought a bachmann set with the same F-7 in it for a friend of mines Christmas tree and it doesn't run half bad at all. The Vette set comes with a depressed center flat that again, is pretty reliable as a freight car. I have one that I repainted and decalled for WP and it is a decent model...

    Prototype railyard nomenclature

Usually, tracks are numbered starting at the main line. At least that's how I'm used to it out West here.

Hawthorne Village 50th Anniversary Corvette Train

I had to take Amtrak to a meeting this morning in Oakland. I visited with my mom who is the Agent here in Stockton while waiting for the train as she was slinging baggage off one of the connecting busses. She asked me what I want for my birthday Sunday and I told her a triple black C5 (2004 to...

    HO in the 70's

My stuff was mainly Tyco and Bachmann. My first train set was a Christmas present from my grandfather when I was 4. My mom worked at Gemco (Like Wal-Mart back then) and Tyco cars were $.99 a piece. When mom would pick me up from Pre-school and Kindergarten, she'd have usually a car or caboose in...

    Please pray

You're definitely in my thoughts and prayers, but someone of your fortitude and graciousness will find an even better job soon, I'm sure. Let us know how that goes for you and keep your chin up.

That sounds like a good idea. I do like James Bond Movies, although, Roger Moore was always my favorite James Bond.
